Mate, forget roos - you could be operating a mobile B-Train chop shop with that thing.

Is it legal in city limits or do you need to retrofit pedestrian side air bags?

And you're not going to be able to fit a pod filter and use it as a cold air intake with that robot wars looking thing.

Sorry BENJED. This is only off topic if you're paying attention. If you're not looking, there's nothing to see here. Move along please.

OK, now all the nonsense about big ugly bullbars is done with, back on topic. lol.

Fiend, despite the assistance you so kindly provided, I managed to find a new manual gear knob for the Wagon.

Image

Image

I think it works well with the Steering Wheel, while not being overly ostentatious, or gawdy, unlike some of Fiends suggestions.

So as well as tying in with the overall projected finished interior, it feels good to boot.

But, the gear knob was not the first mod I did to the Wagon on Saturday.

I was given a standard Wagon towbar. Many thanks to fordebgt93 for the donation. So I gave it a quick coat of black paint to tidy it up and fitted it up.

Image

Image

Luckily the wiring was still in place from when the Hayman Reese setup was on there.

Now, there was a reason I needed to put the towbar on.

Image

Any guesses as To waT is in The Trailer?

So that was my Saturday.

Today, Sunday, I tinkered around in the morning waiting for Paulmac to arrive.

We went out and fitted a water pump to an ailing EB, and then got home and tinkered some more.

It is amazing what a little bit of tinkering can achieve.

Yep, that is the EL Engine that Paulmac and I poured our blood, sweat and tears (well not tears, as we are MEN) to install in to my Red EB.

Now it is destined for the Wagon. Yes, I know, I just installed an engine into the Wagon. But the crazy thing is that this EL engine is a really strong performer, and my wife, lovely as she is, does not need that sort of engine in her ED Ghia. I will put the a combination of the ED Engine, and the Engine in the trailer above in to the ED Ghia.

While the EL Engine is out I will give the block a quick coat of paint, some new heater hoses, a new rear main seal and rear welsh plug, some new ignition leads and a few other odds and ends.

I also went through my first tank of LPG, and am very happy to report that I got approx 370kays out of the tank.

Hopefully I will have other news tomorrow or Tuesday. I should be thoroughly 'exhausted'.

Cheers
BenJ

You have been a busy man mate!

So you are now left with 1 car while you do a little juggling with motors.

looking good ben but you will need the EL ECU for the BBM of course, so will you need the EL dash in yet?

The shifter knob does match your wheel ok does it feel ok?

Hey mate --- When you said "guess what is on the trailer" it was too late. Most people would have already noticed... Looks to me like a hunk of scrap metal with a piece of your red sedan on the top.

I am offended you didn't take my suggestion for gearknobs in the least bit seriously.

Wotever Fiend...

I like the position of your engine hoist things off your head on the EL motor. Am going to copy that.

Which bits of them are you using? The red head and rocker cover?

Nice work ben. I knew you'd end up putting the EL engine into the black beauty.

I love this wagon, it has a beautiful presence.

Well today is another day, and for Paulmac and myself, another day playing with Eseries, and more importantly, grabbing bargains for Eseries.

Paulmac bunked down at my place last night, and this morning we headed off to Pick N Payless to see if we could find some odds and ends.

SVO_Matt said he saw a good wagon cargo are rooflining, so I was keen to check it all out.

We had fun poking around seeing if we could find anything useful. Paulmac scored well, with some Genie headers, and on our way out we found some smick 16 x 8 CSA mags with near new tires on them. Paulmac grabbed those as well. Here is some pics of his ED T5 Futura after we fitted the wheels.

Image

Image

They certainly look the goods.

As for what I found. Just a few bits and pieces.

A very good condition radiator bottle with sensor.

Image

A wagon number plate garnish in good nick which will be painted black.

Image

A near new set of shim type camber caster adjusters.

Image

And I did get the cargo area hood lining, but no pic of it yet.

After we got back home with our haul, thank god I now have a wagon, we went out and picked up my new Redback 2.5" cat back system I had ordered. I got it through my local chap, and ordered a system with a rear resonator. We fitted it this afternoon.

Image

Image

When we first started the wagon I originally thought it was too quiet, but after a bit of driving, it has loosened up a bit, and I really like the note and the volume.

When the EL Engine goes in, the Pacemaker extractors and High Flow cat will change it, so I will reserve my final opinon until then.

I will be getting a nice chrome tip for it tomorrow and will be shortening the end just a little bit.

Well, that is enough for today.

Cheers
BenJ

Bugger! I was a day too late. Coming down tommorow to pick up a few odds'n'ends and was planning on paying a visit to pick'n'payless. Would have enjoyed going shopping with yourself and Paulmac, especially with that keen eye of his. :(
