Either porn or a new set of sheepskin seat covers.
Either way they are both sex implements for Ben.

Wow, I can't believe how close some of your guesses are. I am amazed at the depth of thought and insight you all have! Maybe this will help. The box . . . no, no, no, that is just asking for the obvious . . . . ah . . . The package has been opened. Cheers BenJ

Mystery Box = LPG Injection Kit
All of the bits out of the box . . . errr package. This is what you get for $575. A complete front end LPG Vapour Injection Kit. You use your existing tank and supply line and replace everything in the engine bay. I will take pics of all the individual parts, and as the installation occurs, I will give a step by step story of how it goes, all the way through tuning etc. Snap has been running this kit in his EL Wagon for over 12 months now with no reported issues. He has found improved economy and power figures and I hope to see much the same. One of the best things about going to LPG Injection is you can use the standard air intake, meaning no restriction while running on petrol. Cheers BenJ

LPG Injection - Parts
I will say up front that for a "Chinese" kit, I am very impressed with the quality of all of the included components. The seller is also an installer, and has been very happy to provide advice over the phone. With all of the components out of the box, I took some individual photos. I will put up a description with each picture. Group photo - Injector Looms, Injector Jets, Injector Manifolds and Injector Nozzles. Injector Manifolds - Top and Bottom - 3 injectors per manifold Injector Nozzles - These mount in the BBM - not sure what the larger fitting is for Injector Jets - Four sizes were provided, 1.8mm, 2.25mm, 2.5mm and 2.7mm. The jets are located on the bottom of the Injector Manifold. The seller advised that for a performance oriented 4.0l I should drill out a set of injectors to 4mm. Convertor/Regulator - May need a second one for more performance LPG Filter - Fitted inline between the Convertor and the Injector Manifold. LPG ECU and Switch LPG Lockoff Valve - Mounts to the Convertor Assorted Parts Map Sensor PC connector - Serial port connection. Will need a USB adaptor. Main LPG ECU Loom Petrol Injector Intercepts - Plug and Play Variety of Hoses - Vacuum hose in the photo. But the Injector Hose, LPG Feed Hose, and Water Hoses are all included I will post up a description of how this system works soon. Cheers BenJ

fantastic ben. mysenf and my mate who ones a dedicated LPG AU were talking about this only 2 days ago. im keen to get it for the EF as its simple and much better then the old converter and mixer setup. be sure to document the install. if its simple enough ill be buying the kit.

LPG Injection - Description
Rather than reinvent the wheel, I have copied part of the documentation supplied with the kit. *********************************************************************** Multipoint Sequential Injection System The Multipoint Sequential Injection System (MSIS) represents a new generation of (petrol – LPG) gaseous conversion systems. The principle used by the LPG ECU is to calculate the injection timing applied to the LPG injectors. This is based on the acquisition of the petrol injection timing by the LPG ECU during LPG mode. The engine management is, therefore, mainly left to the petrol ECU whilst the LPG ECU translates petrol actuations into an appropriate control for LPG injections. In order to maintain the coherence with the petrol system, the LPG ECU drives the LPG injectors in the same sequence as the petrol injectors. The LPG ECU, through model based software strategies, is able to transform petrol injection timing into LPG injection timing reconstructing an appropriate calculation chain optimised for LPG. The MSIS can use different size jets in LPG fuel rails to meet specific applications. The MSIS minimises invasion with respect to the original petrol engine management system. It is able to be easily integrated with the main engine management function as mixture control. The LPG ECU is able to calculate LPG injection timing using specific information such as LPG injection rail pressure, engine coolant temperature, and engine RPM, battery voltage, in addition to the inputs of the petrol ECU. MSIS – System Operation Initial engine start-up has to be on petrol. When the engine is running, activate the LPG switch to LPG. The LPG ECU manages the switch from petrol to LPG. The LPG fuel, stored in the tank in liquid phase at a pressure that depends on its composition and the ambient temperature, is vaporised in the pressure regulator in order to achieve a relative outlet pressure of 0.95 Bar above the intake manifold pressure. The lock off valves on the tank and on the pressure regulator are switched on when the minimum threshold of engine coolant temperature is reached. The system switches to LPG mode when all the other conditions, such as minimum RPM threshold are reached. The petrol injections during LPG mode are switched off and the LPG ECU starts to control the LPG injectors. The ECU reads the timing of each individual petrol injection and translates it into the LPG injection timing in the same sequence. *********************************************************************** Some observations and comments. As a standard kit, the documentation states it must be started on petrol first, which means if you have a dedicated LPG car this kit is not suitable. However. The temp threshold is adjustable in software. The recommended coolant temp is approx 40 degrees. I intend to see if this can be set to zero, or at least reduced. The second parameter for switching to LPG is a minimum RPM of 1500. This is also adjustable in software, and I will play with that level as well. I would like to find out if this kit will start on LPG successfully. However, the pressure regulator is quite small, and does not appear to hold much coolant. This could mean it NEEDS the coolant temp to be at a minimum level to actually allow the conversion from liquid to vapour to occur. After speaking with the supplier/installer, I am optimistic in regards to the potential power levels. This kit installed on an XG XR6 engine actually made 1rwkw more on LPG than it did on petrol. I would be very happy to get a similar result. I have also decided to make the install as stealthy as possible. There is no reason why you can't mount the LPG nozzles in the manifold from underneath. With the LPG Injector Manifolds also mounted under the BBM, and the pressure regulator on the passenger chassis rail, you would see very little of the installation from above. Cheers BenJ

Can I ask why stealth , it isn't like it is an illegal item and it isn't like the rest of the engine has anything hidden like a top show car, it will only make extra work for yourself if something goes wrong, it isn't like there is a heap of room under there for easy access in the first place. I could understand stealth if you fitted nitrous or a turbo, although I would think you would have some right contacts when it came to the man in blue adding colour stickers to your windscreen, say in a "soup nazi" voice, "NO PROMOTION TO YOU!!!"
