I want to keep the whole install neat and tidy. When you look at the engine, it will look like a std petrol engine.

There are a number of hoses, piping and wiring to be added that will just clutter everything up, and by mounting the injector manifolds under the BBM routing the lines to the pressure regulator will be much simpler.

Cheers
BenJ

I too have to question the whole stealth thing, I reckon you are just asking for something to go wrong with it underneath the manifold, hell we both know how hard it was to access the coil and dizzy under these things. Imagine if you have a issue with an injector!. Looking at snap's install it looks far from messy, in fact it looks downright professional. I would also be wary of pink slip time and having to divulge it is LPG equipped yet is unable to be easily checked. If I was you I would rethink the whole "looks like a standard engine" thing for the reasons above....

Cheers

Looking good Ben! i have been thinking about buying one of these kits for quite some time now. So with the LPG using petrol injector signals, does this mean you dont have to sacrifice petrol tune like in other LPG set ups?

Im sure the installation process will be well documented, looking forward to some progress. And i feel if you can hide it... why not.

Nice work BenJ! Can't wait to see this installed.

I got over 200,000 kms from my Easyjet system on the Eb Ghia before an injector failed.

Cheers

Cheers Fellas.

No pics yet, but I have started fabricating the Injector Manifold brackets.

Cool. Next time my inlet manifold is off the Eb Ghia I'll be moving the #1 injector bung, it's in a position that you have to remove it before you can remove the bolt that holds the manifold to the cylinder head. I'd also love to modify the wiring to have a couple of iso connectors to allow quick removal of the intake setup.

Cheers

how much better economy/power can be had by having the lpg injection over the other set ups?

Last time my Eb Ghia was on the dyno, I only had 2kw less on LPG than on Petrol. No restriction in the intake makes a big difference.

I usually use about 10-15% more gas, compared to my mums ED 6cyl on the old style system, her system seems to use about 30% more gas than petrol. Both EB/ED 6cyl, her's is auto & mine manual, tho I have a heavy right boot. Both have sports exhaust systems, and 65lt gas tanks. I run fatter rubber & extractors, she doesn't.

Will be interesting to see what BenJ's economy is like.

Cheers

Yes, the economy should be much improved over the carby style mixer.

Snap has reported avg figures of around 13litres/100k on LPG, and down to 10litres/100k on the open road. So, quite close to petrol usage.

I will certainly be reporting my findings.

Cheers
BenJ

PS, progress update soon.
