BA DOHC 30.8 - Install Update Day 1
First of all, sorry but no pics. Had a blackout this morning and the cable modem died. Am using a USB modem, and photobucket keeps failing on the pic uploads. The good news is, the EL engine and T5 were out at 12pm. By 4pm the new K Frame was installed and all bolts fully tightened. I have now got most of the existing wiring tidied up, and 80% of the new loom is secured in place. SWC removed the T5, bellhousing and clutch from the EL engine, and Snap made a good start on the LPG side of things, by installing the two remaining vacuum fittings, and mocking up the supply hoses. After dark I installed the LPG Injector Intercept loom and other related parts on the BBM. Overall I am quite pleased with the progress as we are a bit further along than I had hoped. A new modem is being delivered on Monday, so you may not get any photos before then. Cheers BenJ

BA DOHC 30.9 - It Runs!
Yes, we actually got it to crank and run, for all of 2 seconds. Couldn't keep it on any longer with only the exhaust manifold on the engine. But, the important point is, it works. Firstly. yesterdays photos. Ready for a big weekend It begins In the operating arena Engine out by lunch time New K Frame in by 4pm T5 off EL engine Today's Progress Despite a couple of small challenges, a lot more got done today than planned. I started with soldering the throttle pedal wiring and mounting the pedal. Then I moved on to the OBDII wiring. EVL098 rocked up early and got to work on assembling the flywheel, spigot bearing and T5 parts. Had a small issue with the flywheel dowels being mushroomed and bent. This was eventually solved by enlarging the dowel holes on the pressure plate. EVL098 also fabricated a new clutch fork pivot plate. Thanks Mate! SWC arrived with a piece of fuel hose so I could reroute the vapour vent metal pipe from the fuel tank to the charcoal canister around the base of the strut tower. Snap arrived and commenced with the BBM assembly. This along with the LPG related gear, took a few hours to complete. During that time, the T5 was finally fitted, and oil changed. By this time MRE50L, Sam, and evxr6 had all arrived to lend a hand. I continued to work on the engine bay wiring loom, and tidied up a number of odds and ends. I connected the last of the wiring loom on the engine and we were ready to install it in the car. The BARRA is a tight fit in the EB engine bay. As it is a bit taller a bit more effort and care is involved in sliding it in. But we got there in the end. By 4pm we had this. A couple of hours later practically everything was reinstalled. Only the thermo fans, overflow bottle, and the A/C pipes are left to go. I installed a battery, along with some new battery terminals, and we were ready to test crank it. Turned the key and . . . . . . NOTHING!!!!! After a bit of trouble shooting the culprit turned out to be a loose spade connection on the neutral switch. Then it cranked and fired. Tomorrow, the exhaust will be done, and the rest of the cooling system installed, along with the air intake etc. I will make a video of it once it is up and running, and after my Internet connection is fixed will post it up. Cheers BenJ
