Yes, that will be fine, as long as it is all wrapped up in an XBGT Shell.

There is no GT stationwagon Benj - think of Pepper, think of Pippin, think of the humanity.

And good news on the clutch cable. An EF / EL clutch cable for $55 AU (plus a little donation for the postage) seems like a great deal. It's way better than the $90 I paid for a ED one just a fortnight ago. Maybe you could convince everyone else to install manuals and buy a new clutch cable from a reputable Australian cable manufacturer for this amazing price.

But wait, there's more....

I've driven a XB GT once. It was in the Wellington Nissan Mobil 500 support races --- EDIT; I was not driving it in the event ---- and was one bloody quick car. Hard to drive on the road tho - hardly any lock and you had to constantly watch for manhole covers! Forget driveways - just park on the street.

Check this out BENJ http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 222928.htm

Bloody hell - Those XB GT's are going for $40g up to $150,000 for a roll caged racer. I wonder whatever happened to old mate Nics GT after he went on holidays for seven, served five?!

Someone scored. Damn sure he got it for under 20g back in the early 90's... Had that and a Silver EA Mont in 91 or 92. Now he drives a bloody 323 and works for a living........

LOL @ Pimpster.

It is purely a bad imitation of the BIB original. Guess some things should be left alone....

At risk of coming to the attention of the thread hijack investigation department (T.H.I.D, not to be confused with T.H.U.D, which is what happens when proven guilty of said crime) I will simply state that you're an observant character. When I say I type reasonably quickly and that doing graffix is no skin off my nose, it will become inherently obvious to all those concerned that my talents probably aren't modifying cars or placating malevolent dictators. Although improving skills daily in both areas, my skills are probably more in the building, graffix, video and web fields. Bring back the blue.

YEAH BABY!!!!!! This Bonnet ROCKS!!!!

Over the last week Paulc finished up the major prep work. On Friday we hit it with a bit of black primer, but unfortunately we ran out of paint.

Image

Paulc did a bit of shopping around for paint, and we decided to have a go at actually using real paint and spray the bonnet. This was Paulc's first real go at painting. The paint used is Black Pearl Acrylic.

This is the bonnet after the first colour coat, and has been sanded with wet and dry.

Image

Paulc then applied a second coat, which is what you see in the photos. I did not have time to even wipe off the overspray.

The plan for now is to let the paint settle, and then see if we need to correct anything. As we all know, black shows up any minor imperfection really well. We will assess if any further work needs to be done next weekend. There will be at least one more colour coat applied before we clear it in a few weeks time.

Overall, I must say that I am stoked with the look. The bonnet really suits the wagon and the black wheels set it all off and creates a cool stealth demeanor.

Once again thanks go to Paulmac for donating the XBGT bonnet, and of course to Paulc for his skill, expertise and hard work. Cheers fellas.

BenJ

bonnet looks great, cant wait to see it clear coated.

the driving lights would look better removed tho, they make the front look to busy, and take the focus off the bonnet & chrome bumper strips.

black wheels look good too.... look more like 17's now. You could also try a dark gunmetal grey would have a similar effect

nice work
