Technically, I am using an EL ECU in an ED type motor.

As to where to find a factory EL Tickford LPG ECU? Same place I did, in an ex taxi at a wreckers, or on EBay etc.

They are quite thin on the ground.

Well I finally got it done. What you ask?

The BA Headlight MOD. Woot!!

Some of you may remember this pic from my old thread.
Image

Can you believe that photo was taken on the 1st September 2008? Where has the time gone?

Oh well, back to the present. Here are some pics of the progress followed by the finished mod. There is still some adjustment to occur when I go out in the dark later tonight, but for all intents and purposes, it is done.

BA Reflector with EB mounting sockets attached, and the high beam globe bracket modded to accept the EB globe base and globe.
Image

BA Relfector trimmed and masked up ready for black paint.
Image

Drivers EB Frame and BA Reflector Painted with Matt Black.
Image

Awww, the Wagon missing an Eye.
Image

Test install - It Works!!!!

The following pics show the difference between the EB Light and the BA Light

And with both lights installed.

Some other pics of the finished look. I like it!!!!!

There are a couple of issues still to sort. For one, at the moment the wagon is a little cross eyed. I am going outside shortly to fix this. And I still have to work out how to mount the Park Lights.

Cheers
BenJ

Without blending in with the crowd of XR fronts. BA FTW

That certainly has turned out good - I'd say you wouldn't improve the look with clear covers instead of the original glass covers.
A light output test - std V BA modded, would be interesting.

Looks sweet as, just like Pimps.

You still haven't moved the driving lights to the outsides of the opening though :D

Hey snap, i did a little comparison of the lights, and the BA's in the EB lenses on my car give about the same low beam, but much better high beam.

Ben you doing/done testing?

Andrew.

Yeah, might be able to fine tune it with different globe selection - white lighting would look good.
I suppose the pressure is on to see if I can do same with EL lights.

and then someone can try EF lights....because they really do suck for light output!!
