Hey Huggie

There are holes for the parkers to go. It is just that they are MUCH bigger than the EB parker holders are. LOL.

BenJ

Obviously i found that too, i just removed the little rubber thing the park bulb sits in, and areldite'd it to the BA reflector, on the back side of it. It looks good and factory, and you cant even see theere is a bulb anyway because of the rippled effect in the lense.

Yep, I was thinking much the same thing, but am pleased to know it works.

Cheers

Yeah, might be able to fine tune it with different globe selection - white lighting would look good.
I suppose the pressure is on to see if I can do same with EL lights.

and then someone can try EF lights....because they really do suck for light output!!

I thought the EL headlights where the same as the EF except for the radius on the inside corner, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Josh

The problem with the EF/EL headlights, weather they be GLi or Farirmont, is that the lens is Polycabonate, plastic, and this is what cases the lenses to "yellow" due to the heating and cooling of the plastic trapping dirt into the surface and if you put in higher wattage globes they melt the reflectors. You would need to shape new lenses from glass to improve them. Lucky EA, EB, ED owners have glass lenses. EF?EL are stuck with Twinlight upgrade or HID.

I have looked into the twinlight Paul. Ben told me you 1 or 2 pairs in your cars, how do you find them? Are they of good quality? its hard to tell from photos. How bright are they? And what do you mean by HID.

HID is definitely the way to go even with the BA headlights.

I had a good look at the Territory lights and no! not really possible.

So HID conversion is the plan for the EF Fairmont.

BTW, you could buy new glass for the old EA-ED headlights and you didn't have to pay for full new headlights. I once got one from Ford spares for $40 when I smashed a lens on my ED years ago.

HID is what BMW and fancy car companies use. basically its a very high output light while still being legal

It uses it's own High Energy power supply to run the lights. Is also very expensive in my opinion.

I am very happy with the twin lights. Best thing I could have done with the EF/EL. Light output is fantastic. Low beam is better than High beam in the original light and High beam is something else. Highly recommended.

I actually used to like the headlights on the EL when it was near new.

Nowadays the EF barely puts out enough light to see on lowbeams. The highbeams are just adequate with no real distance. I would fit the Cibie Super Oscars except it would look ridiculous. I need a bullbar on the territory to put them to good use.

Hey all.

The Wagon has been running like crap on Petrol for some time now, and after some suggestions
to check Vac Hoses/Leaks, and the map sensor I found this.

Image

That is the manifold end of the Map Sensor Vac Hose. Replaced it with a piece I had laying around, 'Hey Presto' all is good.

I couldn't see anything wrong, until I jacked the front up this moring and wriggled underneath, quite a feat if you know me, and had a good look around making sure everything was where it was supposed to be, and then found that.

The Wagon now drives beautifully on Petrol, and now Idles Smoothly on LPG, so I am very happy.

Cheers
BenJ
