Josh Thanks Guys. {USERNAME} wrote: BenJ. Love this thread. Absolute inspiration - to the point where I'm looking for a boxcar wagon EA-ED so I can do similar! Will have to pick your brains if you would be so kind at some stage to start understanding what I'm up against Thanks. When you are ready to go, we can discuss what options there are. {USERNAME} wrote: Whats happening with the old red sedan and the green one? The Red EB is now gone to car heaven. I stripped it clean of anything remotely useful and reused a lot of things in the Wagon, and sold off some of the other parts. The bonnet for instance, I donated to Troyman, and now has a BA bulge on it. The Green ED Ghia is still here. I put the engine and auto back in it this morning. It will remain std except for the serpentine belt conversion and some Low Springs. Cheers BenJ

BenJ,
Thank you and your family for a wonderful interlude on Sunday. Swansea is just a great spot for such a convivial gathering, much better than being drowned at golf to-day LOL!!! The wagon is coming along great and the lights look even better 'in person' than in the pix as does the rest of the car. Kat, as you know, was slightly disappointed 'HER' bonnet was not yet on the car [somehow the extent of the mods that PaulC and yourself had done/doing slipped her very feminine mind] but like the rest of us she will be happy with the end result and agrees it went to a very good home. LOL Great to see you all together again if only for nine short weeks. Cheers, Mac, Kat [and kids!]

Hi All.
Remember these? I scored them from a wreck. Well, today, they finally got installed. Yippee. What a mongrel job the passsenger side was the Log Manifold and all the LPG gear. But it is done now. When I put the wheels on last Sunday, I noted that one of the tie rod ends was stuffed, so I grabbed a couple today and thought that as I will need a wheel alignment I will also put the Caster Camber kit in. I will get a wheel alignment tomorrow. Cheers BenJ

These are very much required when lowering.
I had a set of very expensive tyres destroyed by incorrectly set up camber kits. The car looked Race hot with massive negative camber but it was not great at all. Once they were set up at 0 degrees i had a much more stable car and good tyre life. It also handled like it was on rails. I was happy.

Front of mine is lowered onto XR6 sports springs with the standard shockie. Look at all those shims BENJ! It's close to 0 camber with only one shim on each side and whatever adjustment is underneath, I'm not sure... So far tyre wear is okay, although probably doing the outside a little faster than the inside actually. This is more driving style than problems in setup I presume. May ask next time to go slightly camber when they do the alignment...
You do get some good scores don't you BENJ?! And yes, I had a skinned knuckle or two from the passenger side when pulling that bit off too. Had to get mate with girly hands in there because of the aftermarket nature of the air box area.... Are those areas of the ED - EF the same?.. There are different part numbers for shocks and that, but that could just be a clip to hold the ABS lines being added or something? |

Re the part interchangability (excuse the long word on a car mod site), yes you can use the EF/EL shocks, struts, and camber/castor kits on the boxcars.
I didn't use all the shims. I put in a thick and a thin shim in behind all four brackets in addition to any I found allready in there. I will take the rest with me for the wheel alignment. I had to do the rear passenger one from underneath. My hands still hurt LOL The good news is, the Wonder Wagon drives much better, and the front end feels a lot more together. BenJ
