Well, as I said yesterday, today I had a half day off from work. For me that means I can start at 7am and go home at 10.30am, which is what I did. Gotta love being a Public Servant HEHE.

So I get home, unwrap the bonnet, and lay down a quick guide coat.

Image

I let that dry, and then break out the 400 wet and dry and get to work.

A couple of hours later, I have this.

Image

A few obvious Highs and Lows.

Next step was to apply some more Spray Putty over the required areas, leaving me with this.

Image

I will block it back again tomorrow after work, and see if I need to apply anymore spray putty. This is very likely.

************************************************

I finally got the Wagon in to have a wheel alignment. It steers straight now!!!

While the mechanic was putting it up on the hoist I noticed the to main brake lights were inoperative. After I got home I sussed out the issue. Would you believe both bulbs had blown only the brake filament? All fixed now.

The other thing I purchased while at the Wheel Alignment place was some Mag Wheel Locknuts. Got to keep those lovely alloys ON the Wagon.

Cheers
BenJ

Yes, mate, I did the BA headlight mod. Provides just the right look I reckon.

Yes, I am eager to get the bonnet back on. And, no thanks, I have more than enough sanding and painting waiting for me.

I noted in another thread that you got your rocker cover powder coated. May I ask how much that set you back?

BenJ

Wow, that is cheap. Was that a special rate, or can any one get it at that price?

Please PM me the details if that is the regular price.

Cheers

Seriously this wagon Is just F'en awesome, just gets better and better, your definitely making me think an ef wagon as a possibility, why did ford make black next to impossible to get.

30 bucks is reasonably cheap, I know our min charge is $50, not sure on a rocker cover specifically. but did you prep it or did they just blast and coat etc. I know frankly I've spent hours on mine so far, but then again I'm trying to removing all the casting marks etc. but then again it's costing me nothing but my own time to do. 8-)

OK, Good News.

The Short Shifter arrived today from the USA.

I will be installing it in the morning and will have plenty of pics to share, as well as my impressions of how well it works.

Cheers
BenJ

does the shifter serve a purpose or is it mainly a "wank" (not saying anyone that has one is a wanker ) factor outside track or drag events? Or does it just give a better gearshifting experiance in every day operation?

i suppose in about an hour or so ben will elaborate and show how he installed it.
