I waited around 20mins and then gave it a second light coat. Unfortunately, some nice little birdy left a present on the newly laid paint!!!! Bahhhhh!!!! I sanded the the offending spot after the paint had dried, and then decided to give the entire bonnet a light sand.

Hmm I think you need to invest in a shed, enough things can go wrong (humidity, temperature, foreign bodies etc) without having to worry about mother nature to worry about.

Hopefully I get to paint something later this year, I will be making a plastic booth in the shed to have some sort of control in what gets in or out of that area in the shed, plus I don't want the Deli with another shade of silver on it

At KKs? or at your place? Not sure on time yet, as may be spraying more black stuff at sexy metal first.

OK, we won't tell you. You can keep guessing.

Yep, me again.

Seeing as I want this ready for Sunday, I took another half day off work.

I started by spraying another coat of Jet Black, and then blocking it back with 800 Wet and Dry.

Image

I was then ready to apply the body colour Black Pearl. It was pretty windy today, which seemed to generate a fair bit of overspray, but I perservered and laid down 3 coats of colour.

While the front edge looked nice and sparkly, the top was quite rough to the touch. I elected to block it back again with 1200. But 1200 was having no effect, so ended up using 800. Through the water on the bonnet, the paint looks great, which gives me some confidence that once the clear is laid down, tomorrow, it should come up ok.

Cheers
BenJ

its getting there ben.. :)
considering its metallic, before you spray clear on it give it another coat of colour and then spray clear over that before it cures..
because if you rub metallic paint down before you clear it you will see the rub marks under the clear in the metallic..

Not a spare one mate. Only have what is behind the Black Bar, and that was my spare.
