I was just gonna swap some pieces over but couldnt really set the point. So this way I get the better motor and use the best of the parts from both.
On another note I found the wagon has a bosch alternator so I can stop looking for one and get it upgraded |

Today I had a decent sized set back. Got the motor in, hooked everything up and tried to start it and not go. I have fuel and spark and good compression but the car will not fire. Everything worked when it was in the sedan but now i doesnt. Any thoughts

did you hook up the pink wire on the dizzy?
apart from that, where did you check the spark? coils are good at s**t themselves. |

Nope everything was hooked up fine except a couple of leads, but the dizzy was way out due to how it was set to run with the hacked up wires in the sedan. So tomorrow morning I swap the heater taps over and find out how the beast goes

i was going to say the dizzy location.. im not sure why it was like that.... i cant remember, ryan tuned the car.
i think the motor was pinging like a b**ch and thats the only location it would work |

Heater tap is done. Took it for a drive this morning and even though it doesnt feel as good as it did in the sedan it pulls much harder and smoother then the motor that was in the wagon. Although I swapped over alot of things the car is still running very hot, So I may have to put the radiator from the sedan in and see if that helps. I decided to use the radiator that was in the wagon due tho the condition of the end tanks on the sedans radiator (they were bent) but I did flush out the wagon one as best I could without the right gear

when ryan had his old NA Fairlane it kept overheating no matter how many times we flushed it... so we removed the end tanks and there was a massive clump of solid dirt tat half blocked the bottom radiator hose. it was soo solid we had to use a screwdriver to remove it.
no doubt it was also stuck inside the bottom fins, and there was a small amount on the other side. so there is always a possibility that there is gunk stuck inside it. i dont think i even have a spare radiator to fit EF/EL any more... i gave it to ryans dad for the NL |

Ok another set back. Yesterday while driving the car I heard a knocking noise, so once I was able to pull over and jack the car up I had found that the left front outter bearing had basically imploded. So after getting the car towed to a mates place and getting new bearing I pulled the left wheel and rotor off the car to find that the outter bearing had been put on crooked. So much for proffessional mechanics. So I have now put the new bearing in and all is now sweet.
On the way home I pulled over to get some nwer pics of the car with the FTR's and the tickford motor, so enjoy |

Hey man its looking good- i have some 2.5 lowering blocks that would drop the back to a nice height- the guys at pedders were meant to have kept them but when i cleaned out the car today i found them under one of the seats- they were only in the car for a couple days. it looks like they used the old nuts as well so the nuts for these are still brand new in the packet. They go on ebay for around $80-90 but i am happy with $50. I am in Toowoomba.

Thanks man but no thanks. The wagon will not be lowered that much and will not be lowered until after the rear bodylit is on. I do not want this car to be scraping its belly on every single speed bump or drive way
