I wrapped my chromed extractors due to excessive heat and it works well, havent had any problem so far. But yes, heat wrap can cause pipes to crack like what huggie said, the wrap keeps all the heat inside the pipe so if it is wrapped too heavily in sections, it'll build up hot spots and then you'll be running into dramas.. I cant stand the look of heatwrap to be honest but it's good s**t, will do till i can afford HPC Should look real nice when the red AU cover goes on Hey kwik hows it going mate yea once the manual is in and everythings good the rocker cover can go in i don't want to scratch it ,it would piss me off extremely lol how come u heat wrapped urs was it causing damage to anything or did u just want to lower engine bay heat? |

Basically i did it to reduce the overall engine bay heat and lower my intake temps. Because my extractors are chrome coated they used to heat up real good and on long drives and you could feel the car become a bit sluggish. More or less my extractors were an engine bay heater lol, so my intake piping and BBM were very heat soaked which was causing my sluggish performance. After wrapping it, its dropped the temps a fair bit, i can even quickly grab the pipes without being burnt and the car now performs as it should. Also did it to help prevent the plastic brake booster from cracking which it is known to do as well as save my throttle and cruise cables from melting |

Hey ED , i think i have seen ur car kicking around but i won't be reckonising it for a while now dam pigs... Yea to much commonwhore's getting around here it's like wow i got another vl that looks as s**t as it goes.lol
heres some recent picks with the dash out god that wiring harness can be a frustrating pain in the a*** now i just have to modify the pedal box and flush the heater core out and stick it back together. I've decided to rebuild the T5 before i stick it back in to avoid a pain in the a*** in the future like flogged out synchro's and bearings Attachment: Dash out.JPG

Update* Finally finished the pedal box and reinstalled the dash aligned the vent tubing around the back is a f**k nightmare but its in just have to reroute the ignition wire for the thermo fans through the main harness. Re done all the front bushs got cross drilled and slotted rotors and painted the calipers.
