You cant notice them unless you get down level with the lights, or do you mean when theyre on?

Decided it was time to let the EF motor retire today, so pulled it out tonight. Will be spraying the engine bay Envy on the weekend once its degreased, K frame welded up and all sanded back.
Also found something I'm pretty sure shouldnt have been sitting where it was, but eh.

The EF looking on as its new heart is slowly assembled...

it'll be from the metal spacer thing they have between the water pump and block.

seen them break away before when i worked for RACV. but this car because that broke away seized the water pump, cooked, and did a head gasket.

Good to see the heart transplant has begun!!

Did you have any port work done on the head? Or has it just been skimmed with a good clean up? Looks like brand new :P

Still got that Camtech cam lined up for this engine?

I didnt do a lot of porting, just smoothed out the ports and cleaned up the combustion chamber.
I'll get a cam whenever billets become available, and yeh still more than likely a Camtech.

WILDEB - The spacer/metal gasket is still in place. There was another small piece below the thermostat.
Thanks delahayes, I have a pretty limited budget with this thing so I'm happy with how it is.

One thing I'm stuck on but I'm sure I've seen pics of is the crank/cam angle sensor (where the dizzy would go otherwise, side of the block).
The AU block doesnt have the bolt hole that the EF uses to align the sensor...

Engine bay is sprayed, rocker cover sprayed green with fins n writing sanded back (looks mint :D ), everything bar the tensioner (waiting for a new one) & bellhousing bolted on.
Pretty sure I didnt put the crank angle sensor in right so I'll fix that up today. Was going to polish the BBM but holy jesus will that take forever, I'm just going to sand it back a bit then spray it silver I think.
Also got a bit of engine bay wiring to hide, hopefully the cables wont need any extending from underneath the guard to wherever they need to go.

Thanks bud. I sorta scuffed some clear coat on the rocker cover so I'll have to sand/buff those out sometime. Camera just sucks at picking up the actual Envy green colour, took me ages to get pics of the car which were accurate, rockers a bit darker n duller than in real life, but you get the idea.

Fuel rail is polished, BBM + thermostat housing sprayed in 'Aluminium' high temp engine paint, looks pretty good as theres a lot of flake through it.

If anyone is doing an AU conversion I posted up the K Frame pic to give you an idea of what needs to be done. Hopefully the search function can find it :P
