Wheels from ebay, $250 from ratglobal. Bought it aggggges ago.

Tail lights are a bit of love/hate lol, if I had limo tint they'd work better. They were a spare set I had in the shed doing nothing anyway, the original lights are A++ mintness compared to every other set I've seen.

PM sent to slo & ff.

Useless camera man though.
Its a pretty common fault when dropping AU motors into earlier models apparently... so it was going to happen sooner or later but I think I just sort of accelerated it lol.
I dunno whether I'm supposed to drop all the cogs from the EF motor into the AU motor or buy new ones (that'll be very exxy).
At this stage I still want to get it confirmed that thats the issue, and not something else.

I just watched that vid now. Solid effort hey :P

Looks to have some poke. Did you get the cam in yet? I wonder if my EL will do that....

Bad luck with the aux shaft though...I didn't think it was a problem unless you ran a dizzy, I'd definitely be checking it all out very carefully to make sure it isn't something else.

Yeh I thought the same, except when I read on boosted timmy's ef did the same... its something to do with the way the teeth mesh (or dont mesh) from different motors.

Its still got the stock cam in it, it'll be interesting to see how well it goes with a big cam.. as it is/was you can clutch pop in 2nd @ 50k's n it'll just skate along, thats with 205s on though. At least the LSDs still tight lol.

Uhh what video ? :P

I'm not gunna rebuild the bottom end, just fix whatevers wrong with it. Cant see the point in dropping $$ into it when its not going to be revved higher than stock or force fed.

Went to see some mechanics today just to see what their thoughts were on the noise, one said yeh best bet is to pull off the timing cover and rocker cover and check everything there (what I was going to do), the other said it sounds like a bottom end knock, big end or cracked piston (wtf).
He then proceeded to give me a quote of $700 to pull the motor out and head off it.

F**k piece of junk.
Aux shaft teeth are fine.
Timing chain doesnt appear to be stretched (same length as the EF one).
Chain guides are fine, not a lot of wear.

Someone throw a suggestion at me as to what I should look for...
