Coming along nicely , helps when you have another just for the parts. Go to any wrecker for GQ parts and you almost need an armed guard escort.

Yeah ive been lucky enough to get the first spare car cheap, and made my money back plus I kept the diffs interior etc. If the spare shorty didnt come up for sale I was up for $400 alone just for solid rear windows but I only payed $500 towards the whole car and it still had the rear seat and other swb specific pieces

Today we decided to just rip the spare car to bits that way theres more room to move in the backyard and less s**t to deal with at the end.

Stick the steering wheel and battery back on and take it for a spin...

Bought a hd clutch kit from sunbury brakes today on spesh for $310 delivered. It was the cheapest clutch on ebay and its the same hd one I put in the el so i thought it can't hurt to just do the pootrolls before the motor goes in. My mates got wet on saturday and ended up completly buggered.

This build has come to a grinding hault until such times as my mates cars finished and I spend a bit on the xr6, looks like ive swapped my $100 v6 camry on a decent box trailer. Thinking of building a top on it and running 6 stud hubs for a camping trailer

nothing eventuated on my last 2 days off due to weather, realised i threw out my gearbox cross member, i thought "i dont need that one off the first car, the second spare has one on it".
then we lifted the body off the second spare car and pulled the motor and box out the top of the chassis and let it go with the cross member..DOH luckily for me an old family friends auto box shat itself so i should be getting the cross member off that as hes done a manual conversion which came with its own cross member.

so the engine and gear box is in, but ive come to the sudden realisation that i need a 4 door if i want to get out and have real fun.
all my mates who i want to go out with go up hills where even a 4 door gets the wheels off the ground. but i have also spoken to one of them whose father inlaw builds some pretty heavy fourbies and he told me if i move the mounting point of the rear diffs bottom control arm further up the chassis and make some longer custom arms it wont stand up as easy on the wheels because the diffs mounted further forward, i wonder if this could help my problem? also i can lengthen my arms an inch without problems as is which gives a longer wheel base, im not going too high on the suspension just yet either, just 2.5 inch suspension lift and 1 inch body lift. my tax return should give me the coin needed to finish and rego this poo bag, or give me the coin to a mildly modified 4 door gq oh what shall i do!
