my waterpump had been leaking for a while so i shouted it a new one yesterday from repco and put it on and the engine runs a little cooler and the annoying squeak has gone , i was going to put an ed xr6 tail shaft onto the mont today but got stopped shortly after the bolts wouldnt come off the old tailshaft to drop it out, mite cut them off tomorrow and buy some new ones, i also found my diff is a 3.23:1 diff ratio, and it isnt lsd which i thought, so i mite chase up 3.45 lsd for it once i get a full time job and work out the bugs in the car,

Tailshaft bolts are meant to have locktite on them, and when you put the alloy one in, you SHOULD put locktite back on them, so it doesn't fall out one day.
Cheers BenJ

Bry, your Fairmont looks very clean, nice and tidy. I'm definitely looking forward to keeping my eye on this thread. All the best with the build mate.

thanks mate, im thinkin about making a mock up fairmont from a empty shell from a wreckers or any where i can get one and putting all my fairmont gear out of my spare car, but ill paint it up and probably put an 8 or my spare 6 in it, if i put a six in it ill supercharge it, but thats only if i get a decent paying job before i change my mind, and ill probably just leave this one as my daily,

I dont have a full time job yet I only work 1 or 2 days a week so I dont have alot of money to pour into this thing yet its hard enough tryin to keep maintaining the beast, I need new injectors at the moment, and suspension, and lower arm bushes in the rear, the list goes on
