Gotta love the savings of DIY. I reckon it would have been at least $900 in labour alone to pull my engine and change the sump. Cost me about $150 to do it myself with a little help from friends.

yeah would of probs been the same as if you wanted to swap the motor, because they would of took it out and put it in its about the same amount of time to take motor out and swap the new one in

I dont know if its a 'standard' cpsi either, ie: 100, 200, 400.
Why?
just wondering, one of those random thoughts lol

They are ceramic core as well, so support a lot lower temps than metal core cats. I would imagine that they are around the 400 cpsi mark? Maybe someone who actually knows can help hahaha. :P

well i noticed yesterday that theres oil dripping out the belhousing, which can mean only 1 thing, box out new clutch new seal, which means heavy duty pressure plate and a firewall strengthener, its weird the clutch was a little heavy to use at first and was a little hard to let out, but with a weeks worth of use it seems easier to push the pedal in and i can let it out a little quicker now and it just pulls away, dono if im getting used to it or its f**k lol,

well im thinking a wade cam is on my to do list soon, im looking to fit something along the lines of giving good overall increase from bottom to top, but if i cant get that than im looking for something that wont loose too much in the bottom but has good, bottom-mid-to top-mid if that makes sence,
would also like a little bit better exhaust note from fitting a cam like a lumpier idle but if i cant get that than so be it
ive been looking at their list {DESCRIPTION}
and i guess the 1673 is in between the 977b which is good for mid to top and the 1636 which is good for bottom to mid

i wouldnt worry to much about bottom end, diff gears will fix that...plus being manual helps

so maybe i should get a 1521a? :lol: that doesnt have a lumpy idle at all :roll: lol
i just want something thats not a slug down low, at the moment its good to drive, could do with the xr diff but its just tap the thrrotle and it gets to 2000rpm nicely and you can change gears there or a little higher, but id like it to stay that way down low and just get a nice overall increase without it being a massive pig

I've had both the 977b and currently the 1673 and I can say the 1673 is far better all through the rev range except the top end 4500 ish- 6000. Even during spirited acceleration I won't usually go past 4500-5000 (unless I have the s**t :lol: ).
977b was a bit sluggy down low (nothing below 2500-2750) and used to give me the s**t. Would have been good with 3.7 or higher diff gears to hide the sluggy bottom end.

In saying all this, you will still loose bottom end (below 2000) even with the 1673 dialed in "strait up" but the "power band" can be altered using a vernier gear to suit your driving style.

Of course, from what i've seen there are many fans of the 977b here (probs because it has a catchy name more than anything else) so you will be told by most to go that way most likely.
