How much at the end of the day you reckon you can spend once everythign saved?

I was even considering a reco exchanged box, my car vibrates down shifting gears which is probably the box. if I did the clutch, all gasgets, head skimmed, fly wheel skimmed, plus other silly things like oil and coolant roof lining etc its 1000 or more if I do it myself, thats allowing a few other things possibly needing replacing. Could easily spend 2g oif I add valve springs, cam, chip etc..

Catch22, do it yourself and be either real good with time management and get it done between shifts or start being nice to people as may have to get lifts off them.

Headwork and skimming takes a while, from memory upwards of a week or two.

have a spare head to go in, and the flywheel can be put on the machine at the brake shop as soon as i take it off the car. as for lifts i work on my own with every job except for working in town and the guy i work with there lives the opposite way to me lol. been thinking of lining the boss up for night work when i take my car off the road so i can use my mums car

Lol what a setup, dono how he would get time to use all that junk on a patrol run. If hes static gaurding it would be awesome. If my boss had his own jobs and not contract his workers to snp he would let us watch tv, he offered me a job one night for his company directly and said" its one of our jobs mate just bring some movies we have a tv there" but I was to sick to work :(

That's pretty good Bry!
Mines horrendous, even on 98 mine only manages 14-15 mixed highway/city/thrashing/granny driving :?
So I've started using 95, can't justify 98 for such small gains!

I usually dont like ethanol fuel, seems to ruin my fuel pumps in the past, I noticed somewhere in newcastle they have e70-85 fuel now, probably the bp in town? Why is it bad on fuel? The type of car or just yours in particular?

Change your oxy sensor man! It makes the car go better, troyman tild me it only makes the car use less fuel on lean cruise, but my cars faster and smoother to drive.
Buy a vdo one on egay, thats what I used

I have a few months ago now and it's definitely gotten smoother!
It might be BP fuel, I used caltex last fill and it seems to be lasting a lot longer...
It has got over 300K kms on it, that can't help it's cause

My 2nd ef fairmont had done 350.000kms and had a reco head on it at 300.000 and it would have to be the most economical falcon on the highway that ive ever owned, used 8 L per 100km. And the motor was completly stuffed lol
