Well I've been thinkinglately about starting a build thread on the BA XR8. I know how helpful they are to other people for idea's and problem solving of certain mods, so I thought I'd start one off.
Previous carwas the EL XR6.Loved it, never any problems until the end of it's life when My girlfriend and I had a run in with a few Maori men which saw my baby get written off.

This led me to getting a new car. It had to be more powerful than the EL XR6, had to be a Ford, had to be Manual and couldn't be a base model. Yeah ok, I am pretty fussy.
Initially I was set on getting an AU XR6 or XR8, then I saw a TE50 for $16,500. Checked it out and loved it, but then I thought "I'm just curious" on how much BA's were. You could get XR8's and XR6T's for as cheap as $20,000. After figuring out I could stretch my budget that far and a little more I started looking at BA's. I then had my heart set on a V8, so checked a few out. This was the first one I looked at and the other 3 that were in my price range were very aged and had hardly any options and were owned by younger, speedier people. I made the deal and after getting all the finance and security checks done I picked her up and drove her home.

Specs-when I bought it, it had from factory- Leather interior, Premium sound, Sunroof and beautiful bright Venom Red paint. The guy I bought it off had bought Herrod lowered and tuned suspension, Herrod Stealth tuner, A sony 1000w xplode sub and a Redback 2.5" exhaust with dual tips.

So far-I had the Black Apec Racing Apache 19" wheels from my EL XR6 which had BA offset anyway so they are on, Bought the BSSXR8 (Boss XR8)plates, I've installed Pioneer 6x9's and today I'm getting the Tint done.

Pics of when I first got it.

There will be some updated photo's tonight when I get my car back from the Tint place. It's getting Darkest legal 3M tint done which is what my EL had. I love it.

Cheers, hope you enjoy my thread coz my current plans are
-Blue power racing Cold Air Intake
-BPR Flash tune
-Textralia Street/race clutch
-BF timing chain guides
-Billet oil pump gears
- and a few exterior, enginge bay and interior mods with some paint and updated parts.

PS-The mobile phone aerial is already gone and the Exhaust tip will be tweaked closer to the body very soon.

They may as well done it.
Long story short- They didn't like the way I flashed my brake lights when they were tailgaiting me and then they Drove over the other side of the road, got in front of me, slammed their brakes on and stopped. I nearly hit their car, then all the doors opened up and a group of large Maori's got out and threw a coke bottle at my windscreen. Then one of them began pounding my girlfriends window with his fist(Hope he broke the F@rking thing!) then I absolutly s**t myself and reversed as fast as I could and then a territory stopped me!

My driving habits have changed now and now that it's happened to me, if it happens again I won't be so shocked and just drive forward and run them over!!!

Hi guys, I got the tint done on Friday, but have only just been able to get onto the computer. Makes a heap of difference and now it shuts out most of the blinding lights of people behind you at night. It's good stuff. Got rid of the phone aerial as well. I found it a little hard to get a good photo coz the sky was reflecting of the windows.

Hi all,
Just some update pics of the de-badging of the XR8 boot and side skirts. I took a while to decide on weather to do it or not, so I done it. If I get sick of it like this, then its only $10 or something for new badges but i think it looks great. Note that I have also lifted the exhaust tips in the last De-badged pics. The left still needs a tweek, but its as far as it can go for the moment.

Also took a few pics of the Sony sub and Pioneer 6x9's in the boot as well. May get a proper boot cover made up for around the speakers later on. It all looks factory inside the car as well.
The sub is 1000w and i think the speakers are 230w. teh sub is running off the factory premium sound amp.
