Sorry and strip the car of everthing. Windows with plexy glass, seats, console, everthing in the doors. Even carpet and roof lining I'd just keep what you need for the drivers side of the car

So 4.11 gears in stock diff?
how hard is it to put the plexiglass windows in? majority is all gone i even cut all the useless stuff out of the dash next is strip doors and make the bonnet a bit lighter |

I was keeping budget in mind with an XR 3.45.
If money isn't a problem get 4.11s and a locker and a 3k+ stall.

Double check th ratio you have now, may be a random one with a 3.45 already.
But a 3.45 diff out of an EF/EL XR6/8 will bolt in and shouldn't be too expensive $$1-200 maybe? I'm not 100% on prices...

Best budget for the diff is a mini spool.
$90 and you can fit it yourself.

and how do you check if a diff has lsd? I will watch the videos this afternoon thanks for the link |

Being a fairlane I'd say it dose have an LSD already. AFAIK All lanes and LTDs had LSD for good traction with the fat a**.
Is that ratio read off the sticker on the diff? 3.25 is pretty good, Maybe just a mini spool to lock it together good and if you break it later get a 3.45. I watched the first of those bluebell vids and it looks pretty I normative and pretty muh exactly what your after! See what they do (if anything) to the diff..

I will watch the videos this afternoon thanks for the link Check if a lsd by the sticker, or pull a wicked skid in your driveway (always impresses the missus ) and youll see if shes spinning both or jack the a** up and spin one wheel, and check if the other spins the same direction. If it spins opposite (aka one spins backwards, one forwards) its a single spinner

I just had a look then it is 3.45 and i spin one wheel one way the other turns opposite way so it must be an LSD.
