Do i need the green box that is in the dash (96DA-14K144-BB Green)
What does it do?
I don't have any central locking, power windows or anything like that.

That is your BCM, Body Control Module, contains Smartlock, power windows, central locking, power antenna etc.

Ignition is matched to your BCM (smartlock) and this shuts down injector pulse, fuel pump, spark etc to stocp the car being started.

Never found the need to. The BCM would be lucky to weigh 1kg.

its more to simplfy the wiring and have less stuff to go wrong
