That's the s**t! Can't get much lighter than that!!
Even take off the boot lid, remove the hinges and trim off the ribs and inside like you did to that door then weld it back on. Might lose another few kilos. These were only around 1300 kg (lighter than a BA) so it's gonna be pretty light when your done..

A 4.0 six won't be much lighter....maybe 50 to 80 Kg lighter.

Cut the inside out by all means but dont weld it shut in my opinion If you fit nitros you will want good access to the boot.

Not sure if they are already removed but sway bars would reduce a bit of weight

Ditch the exhaust

400kg off in a guesstimation isn't too bad. Point being they aren't overly heavy.
+1 on exhaust. Get a dump pipe made up right after the rear muffler, backpressure loss if you cut It right off too close might affect your power, don't know too much detail on that though. It may be negligible anyway.. Knock the guts out of your cat converters too. That'll lose a bit extra. Maybe look into a fiberglass bonnet?

The exhaust goes
extractors -> 2 1/2 through small muffler -> to about 6 inches out to the side of the car. thought about getting the fibreglass xr8 bonnet. but only so far you can go on a budget. might cut out the s**t in the bonnet and boot to make it a bit lighter. |
