hmmm... I like both colours...
think I'll go with Shockwave though as it's more vibrant. (assuming this bar is shockwave) As for the lights.. let me keep them for a couple of days.... I've been kicking myself for liking them on the car.. but I do.. I don't however think they will look all that good if the car is shockwave. Any idea what I'd cost to ship these to vic? Oh, and I was thinking about blanking the boot also.. but then I realised that with the gas tank in the boot.. I'd be screwed if the remote open motor failed as I'd have no way to get in via the back seats either. I've since found a spare boot lock and installed that so it looks better now.. but I have two different keys on the ring now. |

{USERNAME} wrote: Thanks Mr FordFreak... yes, it desperately needs those SL's installed. I don't know what AU the seats are from other than that they are Series II... the guys here seem to think they are SR seats. That seems feasible as the style looks similar to some SR's I found in google. They are not fairmonts like I wanted.. but I think I like them anyway. definately SR s2 seats, they are the exact same trim as the ones in mine. as already stated they are actually halfway decent for clothies.

True about the gas in the boot..you could use the same sort of system they use for opening bonnets? btw is you EL a Fairmont with an EL Falcon front and moulds or an EL Falcon with Fairmont trims, dash spear and boot spear? |

I'd pull out the whole lot and just put a slab down... would like it mirror smooth so I don't have to drag 350kg engines on the crane over raised tile edges. To much else to do now though so it'll have to wait.. futher back it's all concrete, and has a pit in it.. just the front half which is newer that has the tiles on it. |

I don't know yet.. the engine isn't original and is lumpy as hell.. the dash is fairlane and the loom seems to have all the important bits from factory.. I just put my foot down for a sec and both wheels lit up in a second, so thinking it has LSD too. (though that is just a guess as SS diff can do that sometimes too.) anyway, I'll know more when I look up the serial. rgds Frank |

Looked up the serial and it's an 8 for the class number which is Ghia I believe.. my other EL is a 3 which is GLI.
Anyway, got the good rims on it and put the good interior bits I have here on it also... Photos of black and grey interior and nice and straight lowered body.. one thing I've discovered from this is that the back needs to drop another inch or two.. front is fine as is I think as any lower and I'll have to roll the guards. anyway.. I like the look of this car more and more.. Car is filthy and needs a cut and polish in the very least.. not that fussed though because of the shockwave paintjob it'll be getting down the track... as long as it's clean and tidy. Onto the interior.. these photos don't do it justice really.. looks better in real life but the tree out the front is a gum of some sort and it is dropping tons of these tiny yellow strands and they get on everything and really stand out on black seats and carpet.. still looks ok I think though. I've rustproofed in all the doors, removed and lock tighted all the door mech bolts and put silicon lube on all the important stuff then reassembled... AU back seats. Black dash, AU black buckets and carpet.. grey trims and center console.... like I said, the photos don't show how well it works together. No stereo yet.. but I have a pretty serious system with 5.1 surround, DVD, fibre optic blah blah to go in later and it already has the double din facia I needed for it. I'm not actually leaving that dash in.. I have a full Fairlane dash with the dual bags etc that I'm putting in.. but will be keeping the black facia and probably the black top plate also... the rest will be grey like the console. So the new beast has cleaned up really nicely... once the head gasket is done and the other half dozen little bits and pieces get done.. I'll be taking her over the pits for rego.. then the real fun begins. anyway, thats my update.. I'm impressed with myself for getting that much done because I have a 5 week old daughter and a 20 month old daughter and both take up most of the time I'm home.
