getting close to the endgame now.. car is ready to go over the pits, trying to get 2 weeks off work so I can get the gas done and get the 3000 dollar rebate before it finishes at the end of the month.

Also just picked up an EL manual pedal box with cruise control switch on the clutch.. (thanks mr steve) The AU head gasket is in and perfect.... once the gas and rego are all done... the s charger goes in...

Been waiting for so long to do this now...

Car will stay an auto for now... the manual pedal box will go in when I put the fairlane dual airbag dash in, but the clutch pedal will stay under the carpet till I get a good T5 to put in.... The charger will be in long before a manual is though.

Car is registered... and on gas... and have the grant as well so far now was not only free but made me a profit..

picking up T5 and then install that and while swapping engine in.. putting in the supercharger engine as well...

Car drives great on gas.. so cheap to run now and can't tell the difference from petrol/gas to drive.

very cool.

So currently chasing a T5 and another tickford head.... then the supercharger games commence..... can't wait..

thanks mate.. appreciated.. but I'm not troyman.... :-)

He was smart enough to buy a supercharger kit rather than making one... :-)

I can't put the thousands of dollars worth of car audio gear I have here in my new EL ghia till I have a decent alarm... so today I won this on ebay.

{DESCRIPTION}

I was going to get an upgrade alarm to use the factory remotes.. than I thought....... why? The smartlock doesn't require the factory remote... and these ones are 2 ways with a 5km range..... I can hook them to the central locking directly and sell the 3 ford remotes I have here...

I won this one from the same guys:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0350872523

A replacement rear vision mirror that is actually a bluetooth handsfree kit (displays caller numbers in the mirror) and also hooks up to reverse sensors and displays direction and distance in the mirror as well.... And I won it for just over 40 bucks!!!

God I love shiny things.... I ended up spending less money all up than I would have had I picked up an upgrade alarm from somewhere like strathfield or why....

I used to fit alarms for a job so putting it in is no hassle also.

stoked.....

Hey Frankieh old mate... If you can write a nice detailed "tech doco" on how to install this unit correctly, I will buy one too! I have Smartlock EF myself, and a $20 learning remote from JayCar copied the original Ford remote in about two seconds flat - Besides which, I am so over ""Smartlock"". At least it has a flashing light....

May have to get onto the J3 guys and get Smartlock bypass added to the J3?..

I am jumping the gun --- Let me know how you get on with this install...!

Smartlock and the factory remote are mostly unrelated... you don't need the factory remote to start the car, it's really just there for boot and door release.

The alarm will fit like any alarm fiting to a ford.. which is to say it will all go swimmingly till I go to hook in the central locking at which point I will curse for a bit and then go and dig out my old alarm book where I wrote all the colour codes back when I was an alarm fitter. Worst case scenario is that I will require a CL interface module, at which point I'll probably just a second motor in the drivers door to trigger the drivers master motor and all will be well. (I have a pile of aftermarket motors here).

I can sell my 4 factory ford remotes as I won't need them anymore too.

Now, that is clever --- A second actuator in the drivers door to simply lock and unlock mechanically! Brilliant... I like that thinking a lot! That'll do me fine, it's about the level of my electronic skills...!

Do a write up, I beg....
