Hi all, This is my ef Fairmont, i bought it in November 2009 for $1500 and payed $500 extra for the chrome rims, which required a lot of hard work with some steel wool and soapy water, but came up REEEALLLY shiny...which was very satisfactory
the guy i bought it off said it may have been lowered, but i am not sure as i haven't got to that stage yet. Attachment: Fairmont23.jpg Attachment: IMG00068-20100624-2036.jpg So far mods are: Pacemaker Extractors, 2.5in Exhaust Dash LED's and trip computer. all blue all interior lights are also blue Clear Tail lights, Police Cluster (currently removed i was problem solving...) Clarion DVD unit, Ken-wood 1000w Amp Clarion Sub in the boot and clarion 6inchers in the parcel shelf Impco Gas System EL Fairmont grill. Things id like to do are: T5 Manual conversion, LSD Diff Sort out the Suspension (drives like a friggen boat, but the problem is i do country miles to my dads joint, and also off road miles, so not sure about the lowering, any ideas? not a big fan of driving 2kmh over speeding bums either...) New Wheel (standard wear and tear issues) foggies Twin tip muffler Maybe Xr Body kit. Fix Stupid Lifter Fix Stupid side mirror which keeps falling off. (currently taped on with some classy green and yellow tape ) New Headlights (polished mine, but have little cracks all over the joint and are really not worth the effort when a new set costs me $100) but just like everything, it all requires money ahh well will get it done eventually. also have to build a race car, and do some mods to a fourby...anyway thanks for reading, any suggestions would be great You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

looks sweet man, i'd suggest either leaving it as is for ride height or lowering one level lower. i've got ultra lows, which is LOW AS, but still it aint that bad. falcons sit pretty high, so depends what you wanna do, if you want it to be practical on the street, or look tuff. looks like a nice clean car man, keep it up.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea, and I suppose if I don't like it I can allways sell them, she is clean, but at the moment needs some tlc (miror and headlights) but anyway, so I guess I really want the best of both worlds, I don't mind doing slower speeds over speed bumps, but none of that diagonal shizz like u see wankers in dunny doors doing...what shockers you runing? Is it nice and tight around corners?

Haha I really hope you do this when there is no one else around in either direction and not near anyone elses parked car/property. Remember, you car is not a toy. Just be careful i do this on a quiet dirt road in the middle of the country, or in my dads paddocks. im not a big fan of being a gnob head on the road, but thanks for showing some empathy my father being a rally driver has allways pumped it into me about their being a right time and place for doing such things. hence the dirt road (grew up driving on them, plus this corner has about a million meteres of grass around it anyway)

And also, your right in saying they are not toys. the old straight six pumps out a bit of power when it wants to. its heavy machinery, and unless trained properly is quite deadly. im very careful when driving it on the roads. having an accident scares the s**t outa me, and if i had it my way and dumb a** roads knew what they were talking about, i would be rollin round in a 3.5l v8 landrover, but being a p plater, im automatically banned from driving such a high-powered hoon machine....

No it doesn't, but good theory, thanks also, she goes allright considering the abuse she gets (driving on country roads is pretty hard on 2wd's, so far I have vibrated a mirror off, and the dash creaks and groans

Yeah man that sucks,
To give you an idea, when I first drove dads rally car I was cutting sick coz he wouldn't let me out of second (still does 120 in second) anyway he was like take it easy and stuff, so I did, I then realised after going around a corner that it would drive sideways without even trying, which is a lot of fun And yeah I don't understand the idiocracy of doing anything faster than 50 on a residential road, or driving like an idiot with people / other cars around. So stupid. Just a question though, how do you drive?

UPDATE: thismorning I was driving to work, coming up to a roundabout, behing about 5 cars, anyway this guy decides he's gona pull out from a road to the left, so I keep going and drive past him, thinking oh what a d**k head, anyway up the road he decides to illegally pass me and side swipes my car, destroying the mirror and scratching the crap outa it + wrecking the wheel arch. He stopped so naturally I got out and gave him an ear full about road rules and how much of a f***ing idiot he is, in the end, only got his rego but didn't give me his name. But I got a whitness. Pain in the a** I tell you.
