ok not much progress today, but i cracked the s**t with the sony headunit!!!! im over the bloody thing. anything over whispers and it distorts.. ok well not that bad, but i couldnt crank it like i did in the lane, and seeing as tho the dvd unit in the lane is also sony i unplugged the loom in the lane and just grabbed the headunit, pluged right into the wagons loom and what a difference in sound.. soo much more clearer. while i was there i was looking at how s**t the console was.. so i thought f**k it i have the AU one in the boot, i removed the air ducting as i cant be stuffed modding it at the moment to fit and the aircon doesnt currently work anyways... so once the ducting was out it slipped right in, tho its not screwed in it doesnt move and looks much neater. now to find a temporary fix for the ugly selector handle.. i was thinking of hacking the 4 speed one up and attaching it underneath the console for now, it will go manual in a week or 3 so im not too fussed. but looking at the inside now i cant wait to get the new dash in as its the NC II light coloured dash and pieces.
ill add some screens later on |

well i scored a white EB tailgate on ebay.. starting bid $10, buy now for $12.50 so a few seconds after seeing the ad i clicked buy now.
traveled the 10 minutes drive and picked it up, apart from surface rust and a heap of rust flakes indie everything else seemed great condition... so i threw it in the boot and went on my way, when i got it home i stripped it of everything apart from the wiper motor as one bolt wont come out all the way and my wiper works fine. it came complete with perfect side covers, speaker cover with holes (tho speakers are mounted to it i dont mind ill just put grills over it or fit factory grills and recover the panel EL style. it even had a wind deflector which im thinking about painting white and putting on as im sick of the back getting all dusty. i also threw on the old s-pac wheels as the 12 slotters didnt look right with the massive front bar. so these will do till i get tyres for the FTR's i got some news today that my mum has to go for some pretty serious surgery shortly, so progress might go a lil slow for a bit. |

i drove past this beast on saturday and i must say she looks good with that front bar will look better with a lick of paint but other than that it will make a great functional cruiser(airbgs in the rear and 22s on the back with 20s up front) keep up the good work huggie

got 2 new tyres on the FTR's today, found out atleast 1 is f**k from a buckle.. doesnt surprise me the guy i got them off is a real d***head. anyways im tracking down another one, just waiting back on a phone call before i fit the other new tyres to the fronts, so for now i have fitted just the rears as the 15's were sliding big time in the wet.
i only have a dodgy night time shot as its too dark to get pics. also while i was out and about today i picked up some new front splits from jaycar, 69 bucks, down from 159, saving 90 bucks! because they are changing from response gear to venom.. i tested the sound board and the venom sound too muffled and just doesnt look like they are built strong like the kevlar ones., ill be covering the map pockets on the front doors and boxing them in there. will probably do that over the weekend. also tomorrow i pick up a spiggot bearing.. bursons want 57 bucks, rang repco who are normally more expensive, and scored it for $9!!! ordered it in and pick it up after 9:30 tomorrow also the GT bar goes tomorrow.. after looking at it many times, im not liking the look on the wagon, it needs the scorcher bar *insert evil laugh* so tomorrow it goes back to butcher and ill re-fit the stock front bar and paint it SVO theme like origionally planned, and that way i can drop it lower |

The FTR's will look good on the wagon once you complete the set. I had a set, but I sold them on the Cobalt Blue Fairmont I had.
I "finally" found my new wagon. Pick it up tommorow. If only I had a laser, we would be the "sister city" equivalent of Ford men. You in QLD, me in NSW We will have to get one of the new "State of Origin" mascots painted onto the tailgates of the wagons. Attachment: state-of-origin-banner.jpg And I'm finally gunna get a set of those chrome wheel arch moulds. Will try them on the lane, but if I'm not liking them, they will go on the wagon. 2 pics i took today, GT bar has been sold back to butcher, the EB XR8 kit i bought has been sold, i wont a new FTR rim on ebay locally for 81 bucks which will fix the buckled rim issue. ill be picking it up over the weekend.
the front bar wasnt attached properly in these pics as it didnt have the reo behind it, i just used some roofing strap and held it up using the factory mounting holes on the bumper. its now all back together properly. ill have the cash to get 1 more tyre done on monday/tuesday if the payment for the bodykit arrives so ill get one done then and then the last one next payday. lowering will hopefully happen next week some time when i can be stuffed (and find another nut for the U bolts for the blocks) |

yeah man, this FTR is rooted big time, you can feel it even tho its on the back, altho el venom rekon they wernt and that "they are the smoother wheel he has ever had"
i did want your concords but you are a bit too far away for me to pick-up. not to worry these wheels only costed me 81 bucks now lol since i never actually paid for the wheels i swapped them for, they were given to me. so no real loss. |

I just got back from a 4 hour road trip to pick up the new wagon. And this time I scored a real bargain. The wagon is actually quite good, all of the usual problems I was expecting aren't there. There is very little I can fault, and the 2 hour drive home was great to get to know the new Ford in the family, except for about 1/2 hour of terrential rain on the F3. I was doing about 60klm/h in a 110 zone at one stage.
I was taking a good look at your concords too, but I thought you were dead set against posting them So huggie, how do I go about lowering this wagon. Front I am sweet with, but leafs will be a new learning experience for me. Time for you to teach me a thing or two about wagons

lol benj's the man..
na blocks are pretty easy, undo the factory u-bolts and remove, lift the diff up, slide blocks into place, drop diff back down and attach new u-bolts. alot easier then the front, i just need 1 u-bolt replaced but just found a set on ebay from nolethane, so i sent off some questions to make sure they will fit with 2" blocks. i might even pop into autobarn and have a chat to the manager there, he said he might have a stray bolt out the back mick.. pics of said wagon!!! |
