Good work Huggie!!!

Certainly gives it a more cohesive look. But you do need the red stripe to break the colour nicely.

Cheers

yeah bumper primer, it apparently has more flexability in the paint or some crap to prevent cracking.. who knows.

i honestly would of thought i would of had enough in the 2 cant do to the whole car as the strips arnt that big, that side was 1 can and the boot strip and the underside of the wind deflector was another can.. doesn't last at all

got annoyed with the size of the old steering wheel and since the fairlane isnt going anywhere for the next few months i stole the steering wheel off it. much nicer to drive now.

i also went shopping today, got a central locking kit (as its a series 1 and didnt come with it from factory) K&H colour code paint in a pressure pack (made up on the spot) aprox 400g which ends up half the price of supercheap stuff, 4 U-bolts to suit 2" lowering blocks and 3 rolls of masking tape. total cost aprox $80, not bad really.

update.. i had some issues with the front bar and paint, the paint i got stuffed up so i took it back, ended up being the nozzle so they replaced it for me.

it needs another coat or 2 still but the wagon wont be around much longer, due to family requirements and cash flow im selling the wagon and purchasing a KH laser, 1.8 fuel injected 5 speed. it has LPG but needs stamping and some unknown issue with it but ill just rip it out.

here is some new pics of how it currently is

Major bummer dude, lots of work gone into it tho, it's looks tuff on those FTR's with the white strips.
It's cool how little things can make a big diff in the end.
O well, good luck with the lazer dude.

cheers, i know it will be one of those cars where i wish i kept it, but the work i have to do to it for me to be happy is massive lol, like the MPFI, is just 1 wire to move, but the T5 install im worried about doing still.

but by going the laser it will leave me with more cash for the supercharger kit for the fairlane and more time to do the EF dash and loom conversion into the NC.

ill be keeping the lowering blocks etc as once i added up the costs of the initial purchase and the new U-bolts it cost the same as a new set which no one will pay for second hand so ill keep them for a while as i might end up with another one in the future

well it sold on ebay yesterday so looks like it will be going to a new home, altho the buyer is from NSW even tho i stated multiple times pick up from north of brisbane, i just hope i dont get f**k around otherwise straight to the wreckers.

stereo has been removed apart from amp wires/RCA's
AU console has been removed
sun visor has been removed

still left to remove
sports steering wheel
amp wires and RCA's
air horns

as i was getting it ready for sale i noticed it still hasnt gone through any oil (well nothing noticeable) and worked out its only the front timing case piece thats leaking, so a few moments with some gasket goop and she is good to go.

i was toying with the idea of replacing the lower ball joints and selling it with a RWC but i cant be stuffed.

ill update this thread if the buyer actually comes through

na, reported to ebay obviously, sent him a rather colourful email.

relisted for 100 less, 10 watchers no bids, ended earlier today, and not even 60 seconds after a mate pops up on msn saying his wagon fell through and will take mine if it didnt sell.

so it may get some treatment in months to come but for now he will need it as a daily. fingers crossed he picks it up next weekend as i really need the cash right now.

the fairlane needs $200 to complete
the laser needs about $1000 (LPG tank needs stamping)
