yeah bog for now, i will weld in a new dog leg when i find one. the good thing is, i can use fairlane and wagon doglegs.
wont take long for this to take fold... i also just got hold of a GT front bar, ill pick it up some time in the next few weeks.. so when the center GT vent arrives ill have a FULL GT front, well minus the wheel arch flairs, the front bar is aftermarket style |

Now the race is on to see whos white eseries wagon will be kitted and on the road first. Oh wait dont worry mine will be on the road wednesday and the skirts hopefully modified and fitted by the end of the week.
As for the tailgate trims. Go to caboolture wreckers as they have just got a few wagons in durring the last week, but be aware there is a good chance the some of the nuts and clips will be broken or I have one they can have a corner repaired. If You do go to the wreckers come get a trim removal tool from me as they will just use something to pry up on it and its so much easier with the tool i have |

update time.. and what a difference already...
started by replacing the seats (minus rear seat backs) then i changed the door trims and installed the front splits before: AFTER!!!!: once that was done i moved onto replacing the power steering pump and hoses which didnt take too long at all, then gave the engine bay a good scrubbing. came up great (EL_VENOM pictured) once that was all sorted i moved onto sorting the rust out... behind the rust in the doglegs is a green kitchen sponge looking thing, i dont know if its factory or weather someone put it there to hold bog in place? but the thing is i didnt see any bog in the panels at all, so i have hit it with a heap of rust converter, and im going to pick up some fiberglass sheets from a mate tonight so i can fill in the back of the wheel arch, the rest can just be bogged up. i removed the bonnet vents and went to install them on the correct sides and direction but they have worn through the paint and the bolts are located differently on each side, so im painting white and putting them back on till i find a new bonnet. its getting a RWC on wednesday afternoon and rego will be on the car friday morning, then the fun begins with the stereo install. i scrubbed the wheels a big and they came up a little better but i want them perfect, so some more oven cleaner will be used over the weekend. and this is what the front will look like on friday i know its not a 4L but i bought these ages ago and it will save me $30 |

today was eventful... i got most of the rust sorted, i bought one of those cheap cans of white spray paint, but every time i go to spray it the paint ends up with circles through it.. WTF!!!! if i spray it with black its fine... i dont know what it is about the white but its just s**t so i guess ill have to buy some enamel paint from supercheap and get out my spray gun...
here isa list of what went on today: Fixed the bumper bar alignment Removed chrome wheel arch trims and removed all sticky glue Repaired 90% of the rust with fibreglass and bog Installed headunit, and rear speakers but removing them and installing them into the side panels when i make the on the weekend Swapped instrument clusters and dash panels installed a clock before: after: Painted bonnet vents black due to white paint being s**t and making bubbles in the paint. Fitted the EL rear door handles here is some random shots of rust repair. it needs some neatenting up but do to it raining on and off all day i decided to seal it tonight with black paint this is the bad section, needs alot of bog still, i couldnt do much with it as i fiberglassed the inside of the wheel arch this morning and due to it being cool it took ages to set. but i did get one round of bog in there, i also used the excess goo from the fiberglass on the inside sponge thing to make it hard and help prevent rust a lil more even tho im replacing the panel. tomorrow i head back down and finish bogging it all up, and try and find some white paint that will actually paint like it should. might pop up to PPG paints and get some propper coded paint. |
