Usually is cheaper to fix little things rather than go though the hassle of claiming I suppose. If you have the time and knowledge full insurance isn't worth it . Fix it your self

Panel beaters most likely charge insurances companies more than if me or you went there .
I still have no idea how that small dent on my car was $2500 lol

If you guys want to same a little cash can I'd buy the "bearing kit" in components from a Bearing shop, you want a SET 309 (M86649/10) set 100 (HM89446/10) 2 x set 18 (LM102949/11) and a seal PR6370 or size wise 1.65 x 2.62 x 0.37, cost well depends on what store you go into, could be anywhere from $60+, I can help out on a place if your in melbourne south east.

I went to a local bearing place and they wanted $90 for the kit. Another wanted $250.
But neither included crush washer . So I rang up ATC ( Australian transmission components ) . $130 +$15 post for the bearing kit, included crush washer , loctite and gear blue . So ended up buying that just then lol

my diff kit came to day but i missed it, have to pick it up on monday now.
i think i found what the noise is every time i push in the clutch. i started by removing the firewall plate. inspected it and its fine, silver solder held up lol. i hooked up the clutch without the plate then re-adjusted, clutch felt way better but was sitting too high and i have ran out of adjustment. took it for a spin and noise was gone, then after a few pushes its back. im guessing the clutch cable is stretching then going slack, the noise is the cable being pulled up against the fire wall. getting a new one tomorrow. its $55 non genuine, what yous reckon ??

got my diff rebuild kit
putting the new carpet in this friday then on saturday ripping the diff out changing bearings, seals etc basically a rebuild minus the centre, which is still good as it spins both wheels still.and changing all bushes in rear suspension. decided not to buy a press as the local mechanic should be able to press them out for a small fee. will be many pics, should be interesting

Installing carpet was a epic fail . They said it was moulded to the original floor pan . But it didn't fit at all . Sat way too high over the trans tunnel . Sat too high over the sills . Too short at the front

washed and polished the car today, clay bar was good, it removed all the sht that washing didnt but wouldnt remove anything that cutting back would remover, my car needs scratch x as it has many swirl marks
rang up to get diff rebuilt and they wanted $880 and if gears were too worn $1150. so decided to rebuild it myself , ive come up with a jig to spread the diff housing, ill get 2 pieces of 50mm angle and have 16mm jacking screws at the bottom and top, then jack open the housing, seen a few jigs on google.
