Alternatively, you may have a leak in your brake system and air may have been sucked into the brake lines.
Only saying this cos mine had a small leak on the cruise control hydraulic switch and air had leaked into the system, hence causing spongy pedal feel, i.e. my foot was almost to the floor before the brake engaged properly |

May also possibly be pad knock off.

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around! |

I may have exaggerated a bit . The brake pedal feels hard when pushed in . It's just I have to push it in around 50-
-70 mm for it to bite hard .they aren't touchy enough .

Well they work better when Ive been riding the brakes . Can't seem to find a pad that pulls up good when cold. When warm they are good . Wouldnt mind trying out ECB green stuff . Not to worried about dust . Or qfm hpx . One of those will be my next pad.

I know there s**t . But I'm running bigger brakes , 329mm rotor with au2 caliper .

currently I have slotted rotors with EBC green stuff. Compared to my previous brakes these do not have initial grab. however after they have warmed up they are very good.
Keep in mind that if you have slotted rotors you should be using a harder compound pad as you may get hot spots on the rotors. Using a harder compound will not be as good while the brakes are cold due to the fact that they require more heat to work more efficiently this is because they are designed to withstand higher temperatures. I chose the green stuff cos I go cruising with my mates and we tend to go pretty hard around the corners hence the extra braking power at higher speeds is more desirable. But driving around town, the brakes will only feel good if you have been driving around for a while. The green stuff is good as it does not require a very temperature to work properly. Therefore a few good short bursts (i.e. 2 or 3 lights) of hard braking will warm up the rotors and pads well enough for driving around the town. another thing try not to ride the brakes as when you come to a halt all the heat that you have generated will be localized in one spot. also this can cause glazing of the rotor. to avoid this, brake harder and a little later than what you normally do, you can also distribute the heat by stopping further away and slowly creep to a halt, as this will allow the heat to dissipate evenly. |

I've heard its better to brake harder and later rather than light braking earlier .
Are Ferodo TQ are hard compound pad ?? I mostly do town driving where my brakes don't get hot , hence why I hate them in that situation. But when giving the brakes a hard time they are awesome , it would be great to go on a race track and see how they go .

Seeing that you have upgraded the calipers, the most likely cause of what you are describing is the brake master cylinder and booster not being the correct ratio for your brake setup.
I have seen this before when a mate of mine upgraded his VR by fitting the VT front brakes. The brakes would bit hard, but there was a bit of travel in the pedal before the brakes would bite. Once he fitted the correct master/booster (ie one from a VT), it solved this issue.

I thought that was the issue , anyway I'm fitting a au2 booster and master cylinder so that should fix it

Battery is in the boot , all wired up . Nothing is on fire lol and it started fine . Just need to secure the battery some how ? Not much room on the drivers side and the passengers side has the petrol tank under neath the boot so can't drill holes

don't really know much in regards to battery relocation but Rollin on boosted did this that looked really neat:

Cheers linked worked , not sure if ill mount it up the back . I'd prefer the side of the boot as my negative wire is short lol
May have to put it in the spare wheel well,or remove the side boot carpet so I can push it up against the panels . I'll figure it out .

It was behind the boot carpet lining wasn't it ? I think ill have to cut a section of the lining out as the battery box needs to move over more . I'll put pics up tomorrow .

I'll work something out when i check it out tomorrow . Probably end up cutting out a section of the boot lining so I can get it sitting fully on the flat part then make a bracket to secure it .
