I won't go a cushion button . If the current clutch dies ill get a extreme hd , I've heard they are good and driveabilty is ok. I need some slip as I ride the clutch in car parks and when I u turn in my street.

I'm going to run low boost and be nice to the t5. It's pretty much f**k now . 4 th and 5th gear grinds at low rpm 1st 2nd 3rd grind around 5000 rpm. I want a tko but they are around 5 k with hydraulic clutch and all the goodies .t56 is tad more expensive .

A decent auto is around 4k so may aswell go manual .

I'm thinking I go tko600 , get the box new for 3k get the 26 spline clutch . And go cable. Use t5 Bell housing , standard tail shaft.

That will take 300 rwkw . Clutch might slip maybe ??
Then down the track go hydraulic clutch , cable don't worry me too much .

Even a 2nd hand tko would do me if I could find one .

ahk fair enough, c4's are amzingly cheap to build and fit in to an e series but you lose over drive, quite sure someone on boosted is running a th400 which is out of the 90s commodores? which would have over drive

Yeah there's a thread on boosted that goes through fitting a c4 to a e series, I'd love auto cos it's nice to drive. But spent ages looking for a manual el xr6 . Doesn't seem right changing a factory 5speed to auto haha. I think I'd get over auto and want manual anyway , auto is good for the drags. Not really after a low 1/4 run . Just want my car turbo , reliable and fun to drive .

im interested in running a very fast time down the 1/4 and the laziness, but i know what you mean about keeping it manual, they are much more fun to drive :D

I hate my manual sometimes , it's rough as to drive . High way is ok . Hydraulic clutch would be good .

Found a way to get a hydraulic clutch for a tko.
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 0914033556

Comes with internal slave cylinder / bearing . Braided lines and master cylinder . Would only have to some how adapt it to my clutch pedal .

Yeah malwood have everything but are expensive .

Don't really wanna pay anymore than $3000 for a tko conversion . That's if I get the box 2nd hand. May just go with cable , hmm.

found out what the noise was in 5th gear, turns out its the thrust bearing, when in 5th and low rpm i can feel a vibration through the shfter, like a light grinding noise, i put my foot on the clutch, only push it in 5mm and the noise goes away. so will be replacing the clutch aswell with this one

Isnt it just a hd clutch? For that price you can buy an exedy and have change left over?

The exedy clutch would probably be better, have herd nothing but good results, and also if you can drag up some old threads those a*** still blow in the T5.read it on here a year or so ago

The Astro a*** is only relatively new in Australia.

There are high powered stangs in the states running 10's with these a***.

Ur thinking of the g force , astro is alot better than g force , I've heard a g force case with astro internals would be a strong box.
If I get the gear set ill need a 26 spline clutch

f**k me
As soon as I mention the word clutch mine starts f**k up . It slips so bad . I had it in 2nd and I put my foot down it took off slowly revving lol
I can sit on 60 km in 5th . And get it to redline .

I looked under the car and the clutch cable has popped off the hook holding it onto the steering rack. Would that cause it to slip ?
I'll check the clutch fork tomorrow . My clutch was fine before , next minute slips like a b**ch

Yeah I may be wrong with those gears, was a while ago I seen it.

My clutch is fine at 60km+ in 5th at the moment, hates it if I mash the pedal in first tho, the car will accelorate fast but it also slips, select 2nd and its almost back to normal.

Just going to get a exedy OEM clutch .
