I'm not giving up on it yet lol keen to get the microtech in and give it another run , should go better with a better ecu than the piggy back

I brought the lt10c which suits tfi module , has wiring diagram and loaded base tune . Getting my licence back tomorrow yay. So getting injector plugs for loom and eb lower thermostat for 2nd sensor .

{USERNAME} wrote: So yous don't reckon microtech is any good ? My tuner uses them on plenty of cars and hes happy to use them never had issues . Plus its brand new so any issues I can send back The specs on the lt10c look pretty good . It will come with wiring diagram and base map loaded to suit Ford tfi module . They do the job but the real world eqivient would be a fully sequential ecu which the LT10 is not but the LT12 or LT16 is...

Probably not too soon . In a month or so . Im still waiting for the ecu to arrive then gotta wire iti.. also have to move the boost controller. The angle it sits I can see the screen , too much glare . I'll mount it upset the dash near my left knee.
The haltech interceptor was a piece of s**t . Wasted my time and money wiring it in, getting it towed to the dyno.

unfortunatly its all part of trying to do it on the cheaper side of things, i went through a similar thing when i first boosted my ed,
chose a cheaper option intercepter and spent hours on the dyno, purchased different injectors and fuel regs to try get it right to just have to ditch the cheap rubbish and i went with the ems, so before i even purchased the ems i had already spent $$$$$ on piggyback interceptor ,injectors, dyno time ect, to have to start over again.. i think most first time turbo conversion experiences are expencive learning curves.. |

Im lucky to have a good tuner he hasn't charged me anything yet . Once I get it back on the dyno I'd say he's only going to charge me the time it gets spent tuning the microtech and not the interceptor .
Aftermarket ecu's and injectors is one of the things I'd buy brand new . They may have worked fine in a previous car but somehow don't work when someone else buys 2nd , in my experience anyway . Maybe I'm just unlucky lol

So you went a haltech interceptor aswell and had trouble . They must not be very good . How they work is a bit sketchy . Tricking the factory ecu . It's too complicated trying to get them to work with each other

It's too complicated trying to get them to work with each other no it was a perfect power smt8 piggyback interceptor, it would run the car but didnt have enough scale to adjust fueling, it couldnt down scale larger injectors enough to get a good idle and the next size down injector was to small for up top, so we went with a rising rate reg and got it to run ok but everytime i went to cold start it would not run and just backfire and cause issues like killing tfi modules ect.. it was near to a month of tuning, wiring, tuning, replacing fouling plugs, tuning, replacing fuel diluted engine oil ect. so i cracked the s**t and got the ems ecu and new injectors. never had any problems after that... technology is a b**ch, i had all sorts of issues with trying to piggyback the ems on my au ghia, it seems the au ecu dont want to share any of its signals making piggyback almost impossable, wouldnt be so bad if mine was manual withought traction control, so much less s**t to worry about..lol.. so once again if i was to turbo my au it would be easier to j3 or flash tune it instead.. |

We had the same issue , could only scale fuel up or down 16%. Got around that . Now it won't control ignition . It's like the factory ecu and interceptor are sending mixed signals to the Dissy . One minute the interceptor is controlling all is good , then it cant read rpm , tacho is all over the place .

Yesterday I installed a eb lower thermostat housing , it has a extra temp sensor for the Microtech . O ring for the heater hose is hard and brittle . It leaked so going to ford to get a few .
Anyone know if there's a grommet on the passengers side I can run wires thru . I took the glove box off and couldn't see any . There is one for the ecu loom but it's high up under the dash . May have to drill a hole in the firewall .

I'm pretty sure the heater core is in the way . I ran mine on the other side
