Something was not quite right with the power you made earlier, my EL pulled 270hp(200rwkw) on 5-6psi...

Regarding the motor - you said it yourself earlier, its the tune. You should be able to pull 10psi all day everyday on a healthy stock motor.....

Tuner said the tune was safe for 8 psi , all I did was swap out the 4 psi spring for a 9 psi . Then set controller to 9 psi with gate to open at 8 psi . I'm guessing the tune couldn't cope with that change and f**k the motor .

Controller wont make the gate open at a lower PSI than the spring setting.
Why did you boost it past what was known to be safe?

Sure your tuner is good with microtechs but he is a rotary specialist. I've heard from numerous people that the specifics (rules of thumb) for timing and fuelling are quite different between piston and rotor engines. You almost could have done a better job yourself at a conservative tune in this instance.

Definitely a cracked piston or two, and probably a few spun bottom end bearings too by the sounds of those YouTube clips.

I feel for ya Corey. Breaks my heart to see an engine grenaded in circumstances like this.

Well since I had a 9 psi spring I couldn't go any lower so I went to 10.
Xcabbi who do you know that can tune 6 cylinders good running a microtech?
Next tune I want it to be a good one .

Kon at Wollongong Automotive Services. He tuned my brothers VL and it had a Microtech in it. It actually went alright for a mismatched Chinese turbo kit. Could break traction in 2nd without abusing the clutch. Just lean on the throttle and away you go.

Cutting the spring is a big no no.

A cut spring is a stiffer spring. But then you lose preload. Unless you have a spring tester or load it up with weights and work out its new spring constant and preload then you are literally playing with fire.

Sorry to hear about the XR Corey. Maybe look into a "phoon transplant? Or even investigate dropping a 302 in?

Small V8 would be an idea though

One day we'll see first hand just how "sluggish" a turbo 302 is.

The above in capitals and bold print is the 100% point of the matter.
