Getting the rods machined out to fit the pins . And getting everything balanced. I don't need to take the block which is good . So once I get all the parts back it can go back together . Getting that done at southern engine reconditioning .
Also in need of a timing case .

I can sand blast it back bare metal . Would you sell it ? I damaged mine around the seal jacking the balancer off . In the end used a bearing puller

Do you mean the front crank seal itself or the timing cover where the seal is tapped into? Cause this cover will most likely need a new crank seal too. I'm fairly certain it's in good nick just oily from my many oil leaks the engine had haha. Ill degrease it and double check it doesn't have any cracks or warping etc. ill let you know tonight or tomorrow.

Yeh no worries, I'm 99% sure it's all good but just wanna double check its all sweet until I let anyone use it on their motor haha. Will let you know once I've had a look at it.
Cheers

well ran into a issue already.
rods dont fit the pistons. pistons are press fit rods are floating. so looks like ill have to get cp forged pistons to suit. no one makes a forged rod to suit the pistons . http://www.spoolimports.com/spool-conro ... ed-pistons

Spewing, your going to have an even stronger motor. haha look at it as a good thing. Least you won't ever have to worry about your engine. Might aswell go all out and buy a main girdle and head studs etc so you never have to crack open your motor again. Then all you have to worry about is drive line. Looks like this is going to be a bigger build! Can't wait to see it finished!!

bigger than i thought it would be. will a au main girdle fit ? i think atomic sell sohc main girdle.
since they are custom pistons what comp ratio should i get ? im going to be running a au head gasket now i can get the comp ratio with these pistons . they take 4-6 weeks which is gay. but i can make up the hydraulic clutch and do other s**t to the car. i plan on getting head studs.

ive done some research on girdles. the early au had a one piece which will fit, some say towards the back you have issues with hitting the sump, one person said it fit fine, found one on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ford-3-9-4-0 ... 840wt_1037 ill try to find one from a au before buying this one .

the factory au girdles are pretty thin, i would go for the 8mm or atomic girdle which is 10mm or 16mm

i think 8.8:1 is a good ratio, this still give you fair off boost torque..
