Oh yeh just a light vehicle mechanic. I'm the same but still in my 4th yr of my apprenticeship. Going to do the same thing when I get signed off in sept and go into the mining industry as a diesel fitter. Way better money.

Definitely better money , I'm on good money now but mines will be a lot better.
What I will do is build the motor I have now but with standard rods and the acl pistons , then buy a au bottom end later when I get a good paying secure job , and build that up

Mine still runs standard rods, and it cops a flogging. Had 300hp for just over a year and now has 333 and still going strong. Not even going to bother doing anything to my bottom end when I go for 400. :P haha should be right.

Nah nothing as of yet . Still waiting on pistons .
Still deciding the future of this thing . Really leaning towards returning it back to stock to pass rego as its almost out and have no chance in passing it with a turbo .
I'd sell the forged rods and pistons and turbo kit . Then look at putting in a bf f6 motor .
I've got the ecu to run it . Only thing I'd have to do is modify sump and bonnet and whatever else is needed .

The F6 motor wouldn't be a bad idea that's for sure. It's such a pity the engine got screwed in the first place, it was all starting to come together for you too...

Yeah it sure was coming together great .
I have no warranty with this motor if I get it built as I supplied the parts and most engine builders I rang said they won't warrant it .
So all it could take is one stuff up by them and the engine is back to where it was in the first place .
I'm leaning towards the bf motor .

Sounds like a very easy way to blow a few grand lol. Have you thought about ditching the EL altogether and going for a BA/BF XR?

Haven't thought about upgrading yet . I got a gq patrol now so my I'm more interested in that now .
It's hard to have interest in both cars lol
I just want to get the el back on the road again . Driving it should get me back into loving it again lol

The thing about that is.. literally every 3rd car on the road here in Perth is a B series falcon. And having one would not let you stand out in the slightest. It's what put me off them anyway. Otherwise I would have done that.

+1 Sydney is the same!

The way a B series drive is far superior then an E series, however seeing one every 5 minutes was part of the reason I got put off also.

Not to mention the price of insurance to a turbo B series...

I agree that the E series is a better looking and more unique car, that's why I have one!
But the B series XR turbo is relatively cheap way of getting good RWKW.
