If all goes to plan motor and box are going in on Saturday .
I thought I'd change the input shaft seal while the cover plate is off . So I thought its from a Holden so I ring them up 80 f**k bucks for a seal . Gave that a miss . Rang up local bearing place $5 . Unbelievable the theiving C***

It's in. T56 was a tight fit between the power steering rack an trans tunnel .
I'm halfway thru modifying the t5 cross member to fit . Then have to connect up all the usual s**t . And get tail shaft shortened . Doesn't have to be shortened much . Might even get away with shortening the slip yoke by 20mm .

I have one issue . Motor cranked fine by hand and so did gearbox . But now the 2 are together I put a breaker bar on the balanced bolt and its locked up can't turn the motor .
I don't have the clutch connected so I can't disengage it yet . Gearbox is in neutral .

Found out the issue it was the starter motor hitting the pressure plate .
It's not hitting much so I'm going to file off some material off the starter until it clears

Yea very quiet , not much point posting it up lol
No idea what crush is . Doesn't matter anyway . I'm using a hydraulic bearing which needs a 1-2mm gap between the clutch fingers and bearing face . I'm assuming crush is how much the slave is being crushed by the clutch

Ahh its like that, bugger all people commented in my threads on any forums and then once it was for sale they all came out. Keep posting just for a log of whats happened, its as much for yourself as for others. Its like your brake setup, im sure people refer to your work to see what you did and how you resolved the issues
I dont check fordmods too often but its still nice to see you getting there. Even if no one knows what crush is haha Have you sorted the gearbox and clutch issues?

Yea it's like a timeline of my car build .
Yep sorted the issues the starter hit on the pressure plate so I had to grind a few mm off the pinion of the starter . Can't see the starter letting go . All the force is pushing the opposite side of which I trimmed .

What do you mean by letting go?

Breaking the housing or something .
Can't see anything happening to it . Only need to use it a few times to start .

The part I had to grind was where the shaft sits in . I ground it down a few mm from the brass bush .

I'm welding up a alloy plenum at the moment . Once I finish that and get a shortened tail shaft made up it will be very close to starting .

Got all the threaded lugs on the plenum welded on . Just have to find some 3mm alloy sheet for the sides and top . Anyone know any online shops or places that sell it ?
All I can find is big sheets 1200 mm X 2500 mm which is way too big only need a sheet 1500 mm X 1000 mm . The big sheet is $165 which isn't too bad . Could make up a surge tank or something from the left overs . I think bunnings sell some alloy sheet but its chequer plate .
