Its all about the angle  Take a shot from the side as I did with mine and you get the rough idea of what they look like otherwise the light just shines strait into the lens and stuffs it all up.

Just read the entire thread, looks good, very neat... and factory manual is a huge bonus imo!

So overall are you happy with the 977b cam? I'm tossing up between diff gears and a cam without tune on my EL (see sig for other mods). Did you notice it use any more fuel? And I guess it's hard to compare as the Tickford ECU would react differently (Maybe I should get my ECU tuned to tickford specs).

Also, did u notice any improvements with the pod filter (what brand are you using btw?) And/or did you notice any extra induction sound? I would love a loud induction sound haha

Cheers thanks mate. Glad u liked reading my thread :)
Didn't really notice that much of a fuel consumption difference . Depends how u drive it.
Very happy with the 977b . IMO you'd be better off with a cam first then get diff gears to suit.
If I were you I'd just get a el xr LSD 3:45 mayb go 3.7 even.

I don't think tickford ecu would make a huge difference . You'd see a big difference with a custom j3 chip dyno tuned or even generic tune.

My pod filter is K&N . I put pics up of how I installed it in the air box. Did you see them ??
It didn't make a louder induction noise . Mayb a little . But I can't hear it from inside. The air box would mask most of the sound .

Hmmm... cam sounds tempting :P Even including paying someone to install it the arn't that pricey!

Yeah I was thinking 3.7 if I end up getting diff gears eventually. Is yours the 3.45? Do you happen to know how many revs it's going at 100 in 5th?

Yeah I saw the pics of the pod install, looks neat with the BA intake.

It's just as easy to install it your self . Grab a work shop manual and your set :D

Yes mines 3:45 . Sits on 2000rpm at 100km/h , 2500rpm at 120km/h. Pretty sure that's right . 8-)

The BA intake looks neat where as imo aluminum pipe with 10 silicon joins in a bit messy . If it's a one piece of aluminum pipe then that looks good.

Hmm I might have to reconsider.. Just I rely on the car so wouldn't want something to go wrong.

Ok then, well mine must have a 3.45 in it already then.

EF/EL Fairmonts had 3.23 single spinner fitted and if it was a series II EF Fairmont Ghia or an EL Fairmont Ghia it came with 3.45 LSD. GLi & Futura were fitted with 3.08 single spinner diff's, XR's of course had 3.45 LSD. These were the standard fitments and variations could be orderd for the GLi, Futura and the Fairmonts.

Mine isn't an XR6, but I was told an LSD had been added when I purchased it.

That is all correct for automatics. However all MANUAL EL falcon's came with a 3.23 diff. Also automatic wagons and V8's came with a 3.23. There is also a 3.23 LSD.

Was assuming that you were talking about sedans, so there was no reason to mention wagons or utes as the diff is for Leaf Springs not coil. And yes you are correct about manual EL sedans but that also includes EF manual as well. 3.27 LSD were also fitted to the V8's I believe.

Yeah I just thought i'd throw the bit about wagons and V8's in for interests sake. Was just referring to the EL Falcon Brochure that's why I said EL. I assumed EF was the same. :)
