got the head off this morning , no guides are broken , i think.well they all feel firm .
now dropping the head off to get it skimmed and new valves fitted, when it returns ill put in a 1521a. now i have the joy of scraping the old gasket off the block. heres pics You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

yeah the rims skins look good as.their also in a forum in boosted falcons you can get dicounts from ttf in frankston or something like that in vic but no good for you being in nsw.good luck with the head gasket.dont forget to put a stronger head gasket in.au or auto one near my joint sell double layerd steal head gaskets made spec to suit el's

How much are the rim skins ? my local auto barn has them.
Almost finished scraping . Lol I think while the heads off and I have acces I'll replace the leads .

i think they around $100 i think...
yeah should change the dizzy cap whille your there as well just in case, or even just clean it.i just finished putting a red back in my car.sounds better when you rev it.bloody sh*t when you drive it.vibrates the whole car at 2200rpm

cant you just change the top of the dissy? think auto one has em?
lol i just bought it would probs work better in a manual? paid 100 bucks all up for it.

i dont have brusons down my way , i dont think. what about supercheap, autobarn.?
to change the rotor button do i have to remove the dizzy?? and how to i change it ?

Just go down to Centenary Auto in town, and yeah will have to remove the cap to get the rotor button out and its pretty easy, if you have a book then even easier.

Thanks Justin . I hope he has them . Will he have Bosch leads ?
I took the cap off and had a squiz at the rotor cap how do I get it off . ? I've got a workshop manual.
