Button will just pop off with some persuasion. Col should have all the gear you need, just specify exactly what you want and he will get it sorted.

I just got the 8mm lead.
Should have better spark now . :)
Got the head on and cam , rocker gear , tensioner set :x
Hate the tensioner .
I think my chain is too tight ?
It moves 2mm so better than being loose .

Gotta put in extractors . P/s pump, intake . Hook up fuel lines . Should be running the sarvo

U can get eagle leads from eBay

Got it back together. It's running :) yay.
The ecu Is coping with the 1521a. Isc disconnected and idle screwed in. Needs a tune which I'll get sorted soon either a j3 or install my haltech .

It's running rich . Smells bad .

Head was $55 to skim
New springs $66, I supplied
Head gasket $100
Head bolts $35
Rotor button , leads and cap $90

All up it cost me $343

very cheap compared to a mechanic.

i wouldnt of got a mechanic to do it, i know for a fact as soon as they lift off my rocker gear all my HLA's will fall out cos they have no retainers.
and i doubt they will use a AU head gasket.

im felling f**k after the head gasket swap. i can see why mechanics want $1000 lol
lots of labour.
if you didnt need the car aspa it woudnt be so hard on the body, you could take as much time as you want, but i depend on my car. i need another daily lol

2 days for a head gasket change is pretty good i think. plus everything went well.touch wood.

im worried about the timing tensioner, i think its too tight, but there are no loud grinding noises coming from my engine so must be ok. and i know for a fact i re set it properly.

i made the mistake last time releasing it wrong.

also springs were $130

now im going to wire up this haltech e6x i have and get it dyno tuned . its a b**ch to drive, u have to keep on the throttle, or it will hop. and this is on the highway doing 100km lol

idel is heaps tough

Jeeesus, 1521a. Are you getting some diff gears to suit? Will be a pig even after the tune otherwise.

Even the 977b with a custom j3 tune in mine was still gutless at low revs.
