havent thought about diff gears yet. im thinking 3.7 ?

i still have the 977b so if i get over it i cam swap it back.

it doesnt bother me if it has no power. as long as it runs good. as im going turbo next year.
the 1521a is a turbo grind, well near enough.

ive got a spec sheet on the 1521a and i seen a spec sheet on a turbo grind from wade and they were very similar

3.7s for NA and 3.08 for Turbo. The higher gears give a little more punch at lower revs , Lower for staying on boost.

Jeeesus, 1521a. Are you getting some diff gears to suit? Will be a pig even after the tune otherwise.

Even the 977b with a custom j3 tune in mine was still gutless at low revs.

what do you guys reckon a goo cam would be for all round power?

After some research I believe (for my setup) the Wade 1673 will be ideal for me. 977b is too peaky and I drive my car to work every day, I only have 3.23 diff and my head doesnt have insane porting to compliment a bag a** cam. I do love a lumpy idle though (every one loves my current exhaust note)

Its all down to what you want and how the car is set up I suppose.

I bet it sounds wild as all f**k now though

Ive had my ISC disconected for ages now. It all good except on cold starts. Ive considered blanking it off completely but we will see once I get the new engine done.

Just lets air past the throttle body to control revs. Will lift revs when cold or AC is on ect..

it has a rubber thing inside it from memory when i was looking at mine, and it controls the flow of the air when the butterfly is shut in the t/b and i can recall someone (maybe benj) wiring his to a switch so it works on cold starts and once warmed up he flicked a switch and turned the bugger off so he didnt get that annoying rev hang, i thought only the auto copped that s**t rev hang, i disconnected it on my auto for a while when it was fukin up and loved stickin me car in neutral and giving it a boot , sounds s**t when it takes 10 seconds to calm down with the isc plugged in

how do you find the 1521a cam to drive do you lose alot down low or is it kind of still ok in a manual to drive? and how lumpy is it id love to hear a video of the idle, and how much power would you think it makes with the usual exhaust extractors etc?

I havnt gave it a good boot yet. I just did the head gasket so I'm taking it easy for a week or two. Plus the cam is brand new .

I find it a pig to drive , this is untuned . In a auto untuned I'd rather walk . Under 2000rpm it just hops because of the idle . If I keep it above 2000rpm it's ok.
But the idle Is so tough . Just rocks the car .
I'll upload a vid of it this arvo.

Power I can tell ive lost a fair bit down low . But first still feels punchy . It's not a slug when taking off.
I'll get it tuned and see how I like it. It's running rich . After it's tuned should see a bit more power .
This cam is more suited to a worked head , shorter diff gears etc.

I put it in knowing this I just wanted to see how it goes .
I've heard it goes well with boost . So ill put up with it until I'm off my p's. It will go well with the turbo.

Sorry forgot to mention its manual.
With exhaust mods and intake probably make around 150-160 rwkw.
Will have alot of torque .

I was making 157rwkw with 977b, BA intake , extractors and manual .
I'd probably make less with 1521a untuned possibly still even when tuned . But up top will make more torque than 977b .
