highstall would go alright wth a 977b. especially a 2800 thats where it starts making power

nar cbf with manual.yeah either 2500 or 2800 highstall.wanna turbo it heard the t5 isnt strong enough.strips third gear.so im going high stall and stage 2 shift kit.might aswell go the 977b i reckon.that was the plan from the start anyway.

depening on the abuse you give the t5, it can handle a bit of power, i ran mine with a t5 for near 2 years with just over 200rwkw and the last 9 months with about 270rwkw and the only problems i had was finding clutches that could hold up to abuse.
i have now just gone auto with a 2500 rpm stall and imo, if your staying n/a manual is better for that fun factor.. but for turbo auto is much better for spool time and acceleration..

Do u reckon it would be better/ cheaper to go a btr rebuilt to handle 350rwkw-400rwkw
With shift kit mod, trans coolers , high stall ( are you running a high stall )
Or a t56 conversion ??

He did good then, seeing they are both BTR's and basicly the same box.

Nothing special about a BA BTR.

werent they pretty s**t because they changed things to keep the trans noise down resulting in some parts not being as strong?

dont know he reckons that its abit stronger then the standard el gear box.

the costs are questionable??

in the end its all up to what you prefer, i originally ran the t5 with the turbo, still fun to drive but get on it hard up and down the gears or do a few hard launches and the clutch starts to suffer plus stop start traffic was getting anoying..
so i decided to go with the btr 4 speed auto with 2500rpm stall, much better for heavy trafic driving, the turbo spools up much better, no need to back off for gear changes so your not dumping your boost on every change.. probably a little less fun for windy rds and tight bends, but the launching ability and acceleration is far superior.. at the moment my box is std with a shift kit and s3 and s4 solinoids dissabled and the shifts are awsome.. the only thing im un sure of is how long the std box will last???

afaik the only real things that can be done to the btr is kevlar bands and clutches and replace the oil pump with a earlier le91 (eb/ed) type pump due to the larger pump gears

I'd prefer a t56 but there a lil to expensive .
I wouldn't mind a btr as long as it handled 300-350 rwkw
