go on snort performance, there like $4000 or something. but u still need tuning and s**t

these seem pretty good with proven results

yeah thats something im talking about. not too expensive.but was thinking something like a garret turboo.

if you want a good quality reliable set up new, by the time you do your pipework, injectors, fuel pump, exhaust system, tuning and all the little extra odds and ends expect to pay around 10g.. or from time to time you will find a secondhand quality set up from around $3500-$6000..

Yea that's correct .
U can keep buying turbos that last 50,000km or buy a decent one.
If u can't afford a decent new kit, look for a decent 2nd hand one

Well I plan to run my set up on gas research with twin converters.don't know yet how I'll get someone to tune that one up for me. I'll work it out.

au head gasket from ford $105
head bolts from wollongong auto suppliers $30 a set.
ford wanted bolts @ $6.50 ea f**k that.

seems to be holding. no leaks.

did the xr6 blow a head gasket ??

also torque the bolts 30nm the 120* as your using a au head gasket. instead of the
e series 40nm 90*

Nah the brothers EF has blown it, he reckons its easier just to change the whole motor but Id rather just do the head and a couple other gaskets then throw it back together as he just abuses it everyday so no point on my behalf of bothering with an AU conversion.

yea make sure you use the au gasket, as you'd already know :D

id go a head gasket swap any day over a motor change. atleast when doing a head gasket you dont have to get under the car and undo the bellhousing bolts.
i had to get under it to take off the fuel rail, made it easier to get to the bbm bolts.

Yep.... Ebay, fellow I know bought one of those and it split a few weeks later. Original Ford issue was only a few bucks more.

you can get them pretty clean but its soo much easier to just replace, and you cant ever get an old one looking new
