So changing to a el aux shaft would be pointless ?
Well that rules out the aux shaft then .

If your Aux gear has stuffed out, there will be metal pieces all through your motor, and if the shaft has stuffed the bearing points then the block is f**k.

Cheaper and safer to pick up a new motor. To check your shaft, pull the dizzy, check for wear on the dizzy gear and then look down the hole to the Aux gear, rotate if needed and check the wear on the shaft.

Dizzy gears are usually a softer metal than the Aux gear so if they flog out it will be the diizy gear than goes first and not the aux gear. To do the Aux gear, it is a motor out job and head and sump off, timing case off, timing chain off, full gasket set, oil etc.

Get another low Km AU motor and listen to people and set it up properly.

Well I changed the dizzy that was in there it was an after market one and there was no signs of wear on it but I just fitted a genuine one in there and the car seems to be running abit worse now. I looked through the hole when I took out the dizzy and couldn't see the gears at all.

Also thanks for the advice. I think I'll just go and get another one. I posted up on my thread what I found. If you were in Melbourne I would defiantly get you to come give me advice face to face I hate getting info if it's not face to face.

That's an awesome idea. I should do that i reckon, was planning on doing the head then putting it on the other motor.

ive decided to start making my car somewhat original.
could be worth something in years to come. im not going overboard with turning it back to stock just yet. atm only things like engine mods, intake etc. slowly getting there.

I don't think I'll ever sell it lol . But I'd still like to know its going to be worth something in a few years .

Not worried about performance . It's basically stock now and goes good .

Im planning on buying at poly green ED fairmont . Which I'll throw my turbo onto that and other s**t . Can be the project car

Here's some pics I took today near sea cliff bridge
