If I had a v8 I don't think I'd have the stereo on lol

Anyway Im looking at a set of el xr6 wheels (ftr's) for $200 , with tyres which are flat . Wheels are pretty dirty but should scub up nicely.
You guys think $200 is a good price ?

$200 is a great price, i sold 4 about two years ago excellent condition but not much tread for $450.

I put my unused spare on ebay and it went for $160 i think plus postage

Sweet I'm pretty sure the tyres are in good condish . I just have to clean the dust off and check there are no cracks or hectic scratches

Looking good mate. Watchout to don't start taking off the paint with all this polishing.

Haha yeah I'll lay off the polishing for a while .
In summer I usually just do the bonnet , roof, boot and spoiler to stop it from fading.

I just had a thought when polishing, the rag I'm using turns red so wouldn't that mean its polished through the clear coat ?

That's interesting ,never knew that .

So when spray painting clear isn't always necessary ?

I'm gonna have a go at spraying my tickford body kit .
Using arcrylic paint, and will use clear coat .

One thing I've wondering is when wet sanding the clear I'd imagine you couldn't go over board as you would sand through the clear . ??

I primed the side skirts and it didn't take much to sand through the primer . Then again primer and clear are different

I wouldn't bother with clear, It is there to cover the exposed metalic particles in pearl and metalic paint, it will cost more and achieve nothing. Just put more coats of colour which will give you more room for error (sanding runs and peel ect..)

Absolutely no advantage in using clear on a solid.

Nah I am I just reckon the car looks better without them, when taking photos that is.

I managed to survive double demerits , didn't get hassled at all .

So how will I get the paint heaps shiney with out clear ?
Wet sanding up to 2000 grit then a medium cut polish ?

It's the same thing as clear almost, but with tinters in it. It will react the same as clear when sprayed.

Use 800 then 1200 if your keen also 1500-2000 then buff, will come up a treat unless something horrible goes wrong  Acrylic is a piece of piss. If you put plenty of colour on you won't have to worry as much about sanding through and it will allow you to sand out debris (bugs/hair/dust ect), runs, peel ect.. Great stuff for learners.

Just make sure afterwards you wash bird poo off ASAP as acrylic will be eaten by the acid and screw it up.
