Well santa was generous this year lol

I got a supercharger . Wacked it on for a quick test run and I'm having issues with the el intake blowing off lol

Only made 5 psi but I could feel it pulling a lot harder in the upper rev range and the revs lasted a lot longer aswell . Boost is awesome

Just need to do a few touch ups .

I took it off the car as Im restricted to forced induction , but it will be Back on in November :P
Enjoy

Yea sold the turbo kit . Then wanted a supercharger for because they are so easy to put on . Took me 1.5 hours to get it on. Just need to piss off the flex bend and get some of that flexible hose so I can put a pod in front of the blower .

Yea November 26th I'm on my full licence .
If the blower wasn't so dam loud I'd probably just have left it on .
My mate said he could hear it 2 streets away whistling lol

Yeah I know the turbo would of been better . But Id rather the s/c as its easy to fit and what not .
Plus the turbo I had was fairly old and prehistoric lol . I'd rather a bb snort turbo kit that way it comes with everything .
But now doubt the s/c will be very fun to drive .

The Xr6 my brother said could hear me a few blocks away. I didn't think was too loud.

So you still doing the stock look?

Yeah still keeping it stock/sleeper look . Hence the s/c . No cutting and s**t for I/c pipes .

I'll probably buy a 2nd el xr6 and that will be the turbo project .

Hahaha that super charger is awesome man!!! What brand is it? I want to turbo mine right now zoo bad but dad just gave me another idea. Just fit an xr front bar to a s**t gli or something cheap fit an Au motor with all the turbo bits and that's it's I mean easier said then done but still easier then looking for a cleanish el xr that's for sure especially for a low price!!

It's a raptor mate .

That's what I plan to do but with a genuine el xr6 lol

Better yet get a fairmont or ghia . Ef/el monts are going cheap as .ive seen a few as low as $1000 in good condition . That way you get all the goodies like power windows , cruise , climate control .

Today after work I replaced the diff pinion seal . Just finished then .
Wat a b**ch of a job , those tail shaft bolts were tight .
And also replaced my steel tailshaft with a alloy one .
I think my diff breather is block because the seal was flush with the diff housing and wasn't sealing around the spline hence why it was leaking .when I put in the new seal i tapped it home and it was 5mm in from the diff housing ??
I'm running a penrite fully synthetic oil and I've heard synthetic oil will cause it too leak if used with the old seal ?

Pics up soon

Fixed the diff pinion leak .
Autobarn f**k up with the seal.
Got a new one from a auto parts supplier and was a much tighter fit no leaks .

Auto barn seal is on the bottom
Image

Got a 2.5" cat back from Justin @ tuffcar parts.

Fitting it tomorrow and have to weld a bend to bring the exhaust away from the chassis .
Using a arc welder with 1.6 mm rods. I did a few runs on a old piece of exhaust pipe and it welds great . Don't blow holes . Good penetration at 80 amps , 130amps blows holes and 50 amps is too cold.

Got my 2.5" super cat exhaust fitted with 3" venom muffler. Sounds much better has a nice growl at low revs and across the rev range . Up top it gets a bit quiet and u can just hear revving.

I'll get pics soon . I don't think a sanding it will fix it. It's a few mm deep . I have no idea how they will fix it . Theyd have to weld the rash up then machine it flat.
Luckily the lip around the rim is 2mm thick so it got none of the black.

Also completed my genuine ticky kit.
Got a few quotes and they want $900-$1200 sprayed and fitted .
Looks like I'm doing it myself

I'm going to a rin place tomorrow see what they say . And it happend when my rimskins were off :(
I'll be defiantly getting another set even if they are $100

I've seen that tyre rim protector.
I brushed up a gutter a few times and it just peeled them rim skin off then I stuck it back on.
They are made from a tough plastic but still flexible .

I reckon the Rimskin would of saved the rim.
Obviously if you hit a gutter with extreme force the Rimskin will peel off and Wont work .
But if it's a light to moderate brush you should be ok , but will probably need a new Rimskin

Image

Was quoted $200 to fix it . He'll weld it up , machine it the respray it.
Not sure If I'm going to fix it. I'll get rimskins which will cover it up. But then I hate have a scratch on my rim hmm.

Anyway it's all happening now , got all the supplies to spray the ticky kit .
Fitted one skirt today doing the other side tomoz .
I'll primer them tomorrow and might do a very light colour coat.
