Very dark blue actually was midnight (XD colour) - not midnight blue now its blue bronze mica

Everybody has an old car they want to build. I'm not sure if I have mentioned it Craig, but mine is an XR or XT. Can you give me some info on them? At what the difference is? And what I should expect to pay for something half decent to start with?

I'm thinking Pearl White, all the factory chrome, low as, Boyd Coddington Billets, Cream velour interior, fresh mild 302/351 with a manual behind it, and AC and PS.

Can you picture it?

Mine would have to be a XP falcon, some nice Billet 19inch mags just a plain colour, Lowerd.. Just a nice cruiser, Picture that

I can picture your idea, and man, it would lot hot! Grill & front treatment is slightly different from Xr to Xt iirc, but the rear looked the same?

both xr and xt have the same shell as u'd guess
comparing my xr to an xt fairmont, taillights and front grille are the most obvious exterior differences
xt taillights are all red with an amber stripe indicator thru the middle, sort of 2 red half moons either side of the indicator if u can picture that.
front grille on xt has horizontal bars running from headlight to headlight

interior of the xr has a kind of squared off seat shape on the buckets and rear seat, where as the xt has slightly rounded corners and some other basic trim changes/styles
dash instruments on the xr are kind of compact with the basic gauges, speedo, temp, fuel and the heater/vent controls are seperate from the instruments,
the xt has a large fascia that fits over half the dash and all instruments and controls are situated on it.
its very hard to explain...

u realy need to look at some sites like australian muscle cars sales etc

this may give u some ideas on the xr although this has a 1966 za fairlane bonnet badge , za v8 badges on the guards, za seats, debadged at rear, xy fairmont guard badges (put in wrong spot too) and has xr/xt gt, xw/xy gs hubcaps, diff and motor are also wrong in it

and then the xt, this is a gt look alike but the basic dash minus the extra gauges is what the fairmont looks like. the back section of the boot between taillights isnt blacked out on fairmont either it has a long stainless steeel strip with fairmont badging xr style on that
