Havent tried yet.
Ute is going in for 4 new tyres and a wheel alignment tomorrow. I went for a decent drive today and on the way home the muffler scraped on my driveway so need to get that looked at now. Maybe once the turbo goes on Ill be able to remove the middle muffler. |

Thanks guys.
I had to wash the bike before tomorrow so I washed the AU for the first time in about 6 months and took some photos. 2 bikes might make it a bit low but 1 is alright. |

Time to start working on this so the T5 and Extractors are coming off saturday and being sold.
I bought a low K AU engine yesterday and have ordered an option 3+ clutch, hydraulic underdash pedal conversion, braided delivery line, braided bleeding line, shifter, knob, slip yoke, T56 wiring harness, gearbox mount and a custom crossmember from Mal Wood. I need to have some speedflow fittings welded into the sump and water lines, fit the turbo manifold, turbo and nizpro plenum along with my old accessories then Ill put the engine and T56 in next weekend hopefully and start piecing together the rest of the turbo stuff to get it running. |

T5 and extractors out and sold.
Sump, rocker cover, water lines all have speedflow fittings welded in now. Mal Wood gear has arrived. Most of the stuff is swapped to the new engine so the old one can come out next weekend and the new one can go in along with the gearbox. New Crossmember New T56 gearknob Hydraulic pedal conversion Option 3+ clutch good for 400rwkw Other assorted gearbox conversion bits. New motor slowly coming together. Dummy fitted turbo stuff. |

Really Nice looking Ute there Dan
The turbo with a 6 speed should be fun to drive are you going to change the diff ratio as well ? or leave it as it is ?

Yeah I likely will. Not sure what gears to get though.
The diff is still a single pegger so Ill change gears when I put a KAAZ or something in it. |

My plenum was already blue cos it's off a typhoon so matching the rocker cover was the easiest option. When I do a motor with good rods I'll send the plenum and rocker cover off to get ceramic coated the same colour. Not sure what colour but I definitely wont polish anything. Way too hard to maintain for my liking.
I tried to leave the ute stock, I really did. Last edited by Dansedgli on Thu Jul 29, 2010 9:58 am, edited 1 time in total. |

Now I'm thinking I should have waited for my tax return and gone 6 speed.
I knew I shouldn't have read this thread lol. Are you going to do a brake upgrade in the near future?

Thanks guys.
Nah no plans to upgrade the brakes. Its an AU2 so the brakes are pretty good already. I dont drive very hard so dont need them. Depending on how the J3 goes I might put a new computer in it or put it on gas but then Ill leave it alone until I do a proper motor. |
