I dont like the fairlanes. I prefer the series 1 forte look over them.
The only look I'd bother with would be either an XR front or a TS50 front end with the rest of a pursuit bodykit but then I'd need better wheels to match and would hate taking it out bush with the bike on the back. It's good how it is. It looks slow and doesnt attract attention. |

All i did was fit the black headlights, and changed the bodykit and bonnet, and i think it looks great, i dont mind the AU falcon front end one bit. I think what they need is a bodykit that also takes out the grill. but thats just my opinion

Have you got a build thread on here so I can take a look?

Dan, I love the sleeper look of your ute. Stealth reigns supreme!
Not that I want to take your ute on, I reckon I'd be in trouble...

I guess that depends on how long my engine holds together.

Dan, love ya work on the ute.
Forgive me, I havent had the time to spend reading every single detail on your build. Can you shed some light on your J3 setup please? What package you are running? Are you happy with it? What benefits it haves over a capa flash tune? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to PM me.

Hey Shav.
I got it off tiperformance. I bought the full house tuning package with wideband setup. The main reason I like it is I can tune it myself. The features are pretty similar but I dont have to pay through the nose for a half a*** tune. |

I still have the xcal 1 which I havent had my car retuned in more than 6 months. So its out of expiry now which means I need to either fork out $700-800 for an xcal 3 or go different and get the J3. One thing I loved reading about the J3 is the optional selector switch you can buy to switch between tunes on the fly. Can't do that with the sct tuner. Has there been any news on if the J3 will end up having an expiry date like that of the xcal 1?

Download tunerpro off the site and have a look. Once the software is on your computer its always going to be there unless you delete it.
Its not like a SCT product where you need a security key to access the software. Its more like buying an aftermarket ECU and getting the software with it. |

I personally have no experience with tuning a car myself. I personally would probably get someone here in SA who knows how to use the product and tune it for me. Will also look a the selector switch option too.

Its not hard.
What you can do is spend $40 or whatever on the ecu downloader thing Jason sells and download your current tune then put that onto the chip. Flash your ECU back to stock then put the chip in and the car will run identical to how it is now and will give you a base to start with. |
