My thermostat housing is an au one. It's sits on an adapter plate with a gasket either side so it can face forward. The ea-Ed one points downwards slightly and doesn't clear the belt.

Booked in for a tune next thursday. :D They are sending out an X3 flash tuner loaded with a tune to suit 42lb injectors and a 2 bar map sensor so ill be able to fit everything at home and drive it there.

Hopefully it all holds together.

I fit an 023 fuel pump to this today. What an effort that was.

To get the fuel tank out I had to remove the tailshaft and mid section of the exhaust.

The cradle was a funky swirlpot design so I had to hack that up to fit the larger bosch pump in.

Here are some photos.

Standard pump cradle.

The exhaust which I had to take out to get the tank out. :?

The tank.

The hacked upper part of the cradle. The stock pump fit neatly into this. The 023 is about double the size.

Image

This is how the pump sits in. It is hose clamped to that threaded rod to stop it from leaning over and sucking on the bottom of the cradle.

Finished product. Submersible fuel line costs too much. It was $100 for 30cm.

2 bar map sensor and 42lb injectors are done now.

The flash tuner should arrive today so I should finally get to see boost tonight without hitting the boost cut. :D

Do the sedan ones look like what is in an E series?

Looking at the BA forums the ute's are supposed to have less trouble with fuel surge so the cradle seems like a good thing.

Injectors and 2 bar map sensor fitted. I also got my flash tuner last night with a base tune.

It runs but not really well. It hit about 5psi on my trip around the block. Hopefully it can put out more than that once its tuned.

Its not loud at all. I couldnt hear it whining on my trip around the block.

Its like driving a big V8. No lag. Hopefully it all goes ok tomorrow. My engine spat a bit of oil out of the breathers but Im hoping that is just because I forgot to hook up the breather and not because its dying.

Thinking positive. :P
