The handbrake setup is a PITA. I drove with no handbrake for at least 6 months. LOL.
I ended up having the EF-EL handbrake brackets welded on to my EB wagon diff. In my sedan, I installed a diff from an EF XR6. To mount the handle, I just bolted it to the EB floor. To run the cable from the handle to under the car, you need to identify where the hole in the floor is on the EF and then drill/cut one in the EA. Cheers BenJ

yeah i can see that im getting one of my older mates to come around an look at the hand break set up to see what we can do so it works... i got the hand break lever in easy just had to source one because since i used the floor pan out of the blue ef i just had to bolt it in also for me me to put the dash in i kno i gotta make that sorta right angle braket for the bottom right an left side mounts but for the bolts that go from the dash to under the cluster/ steering wheel. (pedle box?) do i need to find an ef one for that? because i think i m able to grabe one of a mate hopefully. cheers Dan

EA EB1 didn't have the floor mount bracket on top of the tranny hump.
I just left it out in my Wagon as it is an EB1. Up to you to make one up. Cheers BenJ

im opposite to ben, im using the center bracket (mines a NC II) but im not using the side ones. bens using the side ones but not the center.
as for the brake setup, if your using an EF pedal box all will bolt up fine. im still using my factory one so i had to cut the pins off the EF dash as they bolt up different (EA-ED bolts are on the pedal box, EF/EL are on the dash) but im also still using the factory steering column |

If so, you need to loosen the nut, but leave it on the thread, then use a large screwdriver/jack handle/piece of pipe, and apply some downwards pressure, then belt the end of the upright where the tie rod end goes through with a BIG hammer. Cheers BenJ

Could be a smartlock issue.
What ECU are you using? And what ignition barrell? If you moved all of the EL Wiring over to the EA, you also need to use the EL ignition barrel etc. BenJ
